TV-Series
Description
Miki Edamura possessed short brown hair, often held back by a distinctive cat-shaped clip. A teacher specializing in classical Chinese, she embodied a supportive and caring nature, maintaining a positive outlook. This resilience shone through especially after her husband, lawyer Seiji Ozaki, was convicted of heinous crimes including sex trafficking minors and rape/statutory rape. The devastating revelation severely impacted Miki's health, leading to her hospitalization and eventual death.
Before her passing, she expressed genuine happiness upon learning her son Makoto found employment selling tea, unaware the company was fraudulent. Makoto's subsequent arrest and imprisonment occurred during her illness. She died after his release, while he struggled to secure honest work due to his criminal record. Her death became the catalyst for Makoto's turn to con artistry.
Miki's fondness for cats was evident in her accessories, notably the cat-design hair clip; Makoto keeps a small cat figurine as a cherished memento of her. Her name, Miki, combines the kanji for "beautiful" (美) and "chronicle" (紀), while "Edamura" means "branch" (枝) and "town/village" (村). She is remembered exclusively through flashbacks and backstory sequences.
