Description
Lucien Renlen is a central figure in the story, serving as the physical vessel for the legendary dark wizard Dark Schneider. He was born shortly after the end of the Golem Wars and was orphaned at a young age. The high priest of Metallicana, Geo Noto Soto, sealed the soul of the defeated Dark Schneider into Lucien’s body while he was still an infant. Geo then took Lucien in and raised him in Metallicana alongside his own daughter, Tia Noto Yoko, so that Lucien grew up as a close companion and almost a younger brother to Yoko.

In his everyday appearance, Lucien is a teenage boy with short brown hair and black eyes, and he typically behaves in a childish and somewhat naive manner. This gentle and unassuming personality masks the immense power contained within him. When Yoko kisses him, the seal is broken and Dark Schneider’s consciousness emerges, transforming Lucien’s body into that of the arrogant, powerful wizard. Lucien himself does not possess magical abilities; his role is that of a host, and his own awareness is often suppressed while Dark Schneider is active.

Lucien’s motivations are closely tied to his care for Yoko and the safety of Metallicana. He is generally passive in conflicts, as his body is effectively borrowed by Dark Schneider. However, as the story progresses—especially in the Hell’s Requiem arc—Lucien begins to develop his own identity and assert himself. He and Yoko seek refuge with a group of samurai after the fall of Metallicana, and together they work to prevent the end of the world. During this time, Lucien learns of his deeper cosmic heritage: he is revealed to be the reincarnation of Lucifer, the original fallen angel. This revelation grants him access to immense angelic powers, which he uses to shield Yoko from attacks and to provide crucial information to allies.

Lucien’s key relationship is with Yoko, who acts as his protector and friend. He also shares a strained coexistence with Dark Schneider, who occupies the same body. Other important connections include his adoptive father Geo and the various allies who fight alongside him. Throughout the narrative, Lucien evolves from a mere container for another’s power into a being with his own significant abilities and a vital role in the cosmic struggle. His notable abilities include the dormant power of Lucifer, which he can call upon to create barriers, heal, and intervene on a supernatural level. He does not typically fight in his own form, but his existence is essential for the release and containment of Dark Schneider.
