Description
Hercules is depicted as one of the most powerful and celebrated robots in the world, hailed as a national hero in Greece. On the battlefield and in the arena, he is known as the God of War, possessing an undefeated record in professional robot wrestling, specifically the sport of pankration. He is a veteran of the 39th Central Asian War, where he fought as a peacekeeper for the United Nations military alongside other legendary robots like Mont Blanc and Brando against the Persian Army.

In terms of personality, Hercules is characterized by a stoic and stern demeanor. He firmly considers himself a machine or a killing machine, initially showing no interest in human emotions or mimicking human behavior. During the war, unlike some of his peers who questioned the conflict's morality, he focused strictly on executing his orders. However, his experiences begin to change him. After the war ends, he starts to notice a shift within himself, hesitating to deliver fatal blows to opponents in the ring and beginning to grapple with complex feelings such as hatred and compassion. This marks a significant evolution in his character, as he moves from being a simple instrument of combat to a being capable of emotional depth.

Hercules's primary motivation throughout the story is rooted in his profound sense of honor and justice. His most defining relationship is with Brando, a fellow champion robot who is both his best friend and his greatest rival. Their legendary bouts always ended in draws, showcasing their equal and immense strength. When Brando is killed by Pluto, the story's antagonist, Hercules is devastated. Driven by grief and a desire for vengeance, he dedicates all of his resources to hunting down Pluto, feeling a deep need to avenge his fallen comrade and the other robots lost in the war. This quest for revenge, contrasting with the pacifism of another top robot, Epsilon, forms a key part of his role in the narrative.

Hercules's development is defined by his transition from a purely logical war machine to a being who understands the weight of emotion. His growing understanding of hatred and sympathy directly fuels his decision to seek revenge, an act that is deeply emotional and seemingly illogical for a robot. His final confrontation with Pluto is a brutal and epic battle. Donning a military combat suit, Hercules fights ferociously and manages to inflict significant damage on his enemy, even tearing off one of Pluto’s arms. Despite his immense power and tactical mind, he is ultimately killed when Pluto impales him with his horns.

Hercules possesses several notable abilities that cement his status as a top-tier fighter. He is the undefeated world champion of pankration, a testament to his superior hand-to-hand combat skills. Like Brando, he has multiple spare bodies, allowing his electronic brain to be transferred, though this ultimately does not save him from destruction. In combat, he relies primarily on his fists but has been shown wearing advanced military gear for his final battle. In alternative depictions of the character, he wields a powerful spear and a shield capable of generating destructive tornadoes, and pilots a flying chariot, styled like an ancient Greek warrior. During his fight with Pluto, he demonstrates keen analytical skills, deducing that his opponent cannot use his hands while flying, a weakness he exploits to gain the upper hand.
