Papa, also known as Swimmer's Papa, is a supporting character in the anime Sand Land: The Series. He is the old patriarch and leader of the Swimmers, a family of bandits well known across the desert country of Sand Land, and he proudly bills his family as the greatest criminals in the land. In appearance, Papa is a senior man of above average height with a muscular build and a gray mustache. Like the other members of his gang, he wears a blue swimsuit, yellow boots, green socks, goggles, and brown gloves, giving the Swimmers a distinct and easily recognizable look.

In the story, Papa and his gang encounter the main characters during their travels, acting as a rough band of outlaws who test the travelers. As the father of the other members, including Guppy, Shark, and Pike, Papa leads his family with a boastful pride in their criminal reputation. His personality is expressed mainly through this swaggering self-image and his position as the head of the clan. The series does not give Papa a significant personal arc; he remains a minor supporting figure whose individual development is limited.
