Description
Kazami Torimachi, the son of a fisherman, developed a dislike for the sea despite his family background. He enters the virtual world of Gunpla Battle Nexus Online (GBN) as a Diver, initially displaying a lighthearted and carefree personality with aspirations of becoming a hero. He admires Captain Zeon, a popular streaming Diver on GBN's G-Tube service. Early in his GBN activities, Kazami frequently moves between different parties but struggles with teamwork and cooperation, leading to unremarkable battle records. This pattern results in him operating primarily as a solo player.
His initial Gunpla is the ZGMF-X19AK Gundam Justice Knight, a customized model based on the ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam from the Cosmic Era timeline. Reflecting his knight-themed hero aspirations, this Gunpla features enhanced defensive capabilities and modified armaments: the KT-E03R Raitei Shot Lancer (a combination lance and ranged weapon), the physical KT-S02E Galatine Long Sword, and the CS-1202 Circle Shield usable for bashing attacks. The original backpack is replaced with a "Knight Wing" unit enabling flight, which can also combine with other armaments for support functions. Later, as battles intensify on the planet Eldora, he constructs a second primary Gunpla, the GAT-X303K Gundam Aegis Knight, derived from another Mobile Suit Gundam SEED design.
Kazami's development begins upon encountering Hiroto Kuga; after watching one of Hiroto's battles, Kazami persistently recruits him for a hidden mission. Alongside May and Parviz, they are transported to Eldora after responding to a contact named Freddy, forming the force group BUILD DiVERS. Initially, Kazami clashes with Hiroto due to his impulsive actions and Hiroto's aloofness, but their dynamic evolves through shared experiences. Kazami gradually learns the value of teamwork and responsibility, stepping up to protect Eldoran villages and contributing to critical missions like repairing the ancient dragon Cuadorn using Gunpla parts. His self-appointed leadership role within BUILD DiVERS matures into genuine capability as he overcomes his tendency to rush into fights and starts coordinating strategically with teammates.
A significant aspect of his growth involves his relationship with Hiroto, shifting from mutual disregard to respect. Kazami eventually seeks Hiroto's technical expertise for support in constructing the Gundam Aegis Knight, acknowledging Hiroto's builder skills. In real life, Kazami has a smaller physical stature compared to his in-game avatar, and a Mobile Suit Gundam SEED poster in his room aligns with his Gunpla preferences.
Throughout BUILD DiVERS' campaign against the One-Eyes army and Alus on Eldora, Kazami transitions from seeking personal fame to prioritizing the team's objectives and the planet's survival.
