Description
Daitaku Helios is a character from the multimedia franchise Uma Musume Pretty Derby, who serves as one of the main protagonists of the stage play focused on her story, titled Butai Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Sprinters' Story. She is a student at Tracen Academy, residing in the Ritto dormitory where her roommate is another horse girl named Tap Dance City.

In terms of background, Daitaku Helios is inspired by the real-life racehorse of the same name, a black stallion active in the early 1990s known for winning prestigious races like the Mile Championship two years in a row. Her physical appearance in the series reflects her vibrant personality; she has black hair with bold blue highlights, often tied up, and golden eyes. She stands 156cm tall and her race uniform consists of a blue T-shirt with black and yellow stripes, white shorts, and blue boots.

Personality is the most defining aspect of Daitaku Helios. She is an energetic, loud, and sociable party girl who lives by the motto of having fun. Her speech is filled with trendy slang and she is rarely seen without a big smile, always trying to cheer up those around her. She dislikes quiet situations and formal politeness, finding them sad or painful. While her enthusiasm is infectious, she lacks the ability to adjust her behavior for different people, which can sometimes push quieter individuals away. Despite this, she is capable of speaking politely if she makes a conscious effort.

Her motivations within the story are driven by a desire to bring joy to others through racing and parties. A key moment in her personal journey occurs after she sees the horse girl Daiichi Ruby race at the Kyoto Umamusume Stakes. Helios becomes deeply inspired by Ruby and dreams of one day running a race with her as equals. She notices that Ruby feels burdened by her family's expectations, so Helios makes it her mission to teach her the importance of simply having fun while competing. She makes a promise to Ruby to show her true running style at the Mile Championship.

Helios has several notable key relationships. Her best friend is Mejiro Palmer, with whom she forms the Explosive Escape Duo, as they both enjoy running at the front of the pack. She often calls Palmer her sun and the two are frequently seen getting into trouble together. Her relationship with Daiichi Ruby is one of deep admiration, referring to Ruby as Ojou (young lady), though Ruby's serious nature often clashes with Helios's carefree attitude, making their friendship a slow and sometimes one-sided effort. Besides them, she is also friends with other characters who share her gal fashion sense, such as Tosen Jordan and Gold City. Her roommate is Tap Dance City.

Regarding her development, Helios begins as a character who simply wants to have fun, but her story in Sprinters' Story shows her growth into someone who uses her passion to connect with others on a deeper level, particularly her efforts to reach the reserved Ruby. She is also shown to overcome personal troubles by confiding in friends, such as when she shouts her worries into a tree stump before being discovered by Palmer, which becomes the start of their close friendship.

When it comes to notable abilities, Daitaku Helios is a talented runner who specializes in short to mile-distance races. Her preferred racing tactic is the frontrunner style, where she dashes ahead from the very start, a style she shares with her best friend Palmer. Outside of racing, she is a skilled DJ and loves to remix music, even running her own popular channel called Tenage☆Helios Channel where she posts vlogs and DJ mixes. Her popularity from these online activities has led to her DJing at concerts for famous singers. She is also surprisingly proficient at playing the card game Old Maid.
