Description
Gabi Braun is an Eldian from Liberio's internment zone, training as a Warrior Cadet in the Marleyan Military with potential to inherit the Armored Titan. She is Reiner Braun's cousin. Gabi possesses a petite, athletic build, medium-length dark brown hair often half-tied, and wears the standard Marleyan military uniform modified with an Eldian armband and insignia.

Demonstrating exceptional combat skills and strategic intelligence, Gabi crafted a bomb to destroy an armored train during the Battle of Fort Slava, saving 800 Eldian soldiers. She exhibits fierce determination, bravery, and loyalty to fellow Eldians, often assuming leadership roles. However, her passion manifests as overbearing dominance, imposing her views and punishing dissent. Raised under Marleyan propaganda, she harbors intense hatred for the people of Paradis Island, viewing them as "devils" responsible for Eldian suffering. This fuels her desire to inherit the Armored Titan and eradicate Paradis to earn her family honorary Marleyan citizenship.

Her worldview fractures during the attack on Liberio, witnessing Eren Yeager's assault and the deaths of her friends Udo and Zofia. Driven by vengeance, she infiltrates an enemy airship and kills Sasha Blouse. Captured and taken to Paradis, Gabi clings to her beliefs despite encountering kindness from Sasha's family, particularly Kaya. She struggles to reconcile their humanity with Marley's teachings, recalling Reiner's similar conflicts.

A pivotal shift occurs when Sasha's father spares Gabi despite her confession. This act of compassion, alongside Kaya's anger and concern, forces Gabi to confront the consequences of her actions. She breaks down, admitting there were "no devils on this island—just humans," understanding Reiner's conflict and the fallacy of Marley's propaganda. She releases her hatred toward Paradis, recognizing the cycle of violence she perpetuated.

During the Rumbling, Gabi witnesses Falco's accidental Titan transformation and Colt's death. Amidst the chaos, she shoots Eren Yeager's head off to prevent his contact with Zeke, a tactical decision to stop the Rumbling rather than blind revenge. This act fulfills her initial vow to kill Eren but reflects her evolved perspective: she now judges individuals by their actions, not origins. She joins the alliance to stop Eren's genocide, fighting alongside former enemies to protect humanity. Her relationship with Falco deepens, and she prioritizes protecting loved ones over ideological battles.

Gabi's character parallels Eren Yeager's origins—both driven by trauma, hatred, and a desire to eradicate perceived enemies. Her arc diverges through redemption: where Eren embraces destruction, Gabi breaks the cycle of vengeance by embracing empathy and accountability.
