Misuzu Wakatsuki is a main character in Love Live! School Idol Musical the Drama. She is a second-year student who was originally enrolled at Takizakura Girls' Academy before the school merger with Tsubakisakuhana Girls' High School. Following the merger, she becomes a member of the unified Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image color is indigo. She has dark blue shoulder-length hair that curls upward at the ends, covering her ears, and her eyes are a deep blue.

Misuzu serves as the president of the Performing Arts Idol Club. She is highly driven, assertive, and uncompromising, holding herself and others to strict standards. She approaches her fellow club members as rivals, believing that everyone deserves a fair opportunity to demonstrate their strengths, because she wants the same chance for herself. Her strong personality initially leads to clashes with Sayaka Harukaze over Sayaka’s lack of enthusiasm, and with Anzu Takizawa, whom Misuzu suspects became the group’s center through nepotism due to Anzu’s mother being the school chairwoman. Over time, Misuzu resolves these conflicts and builds good relationships with both.

Misuzu’s primary motivation is to become a professional idol after graduation. She works relentlessly to advance her career, but she has also made a deal with the school chairwoman to secure future opportunities, a compromise that sometimes tempers her passion. When Anzu loses enthusiasm for their idol activities, Misuzu initially reveals her own desire to be the center, yet ultimately sets aside her ambition when reminded of the terms of their agreement. She later takes the initiative to retrieve Anzu after Anzu leaves the club, recognizing that the group cannot function without her.

Academically, Misuzu is diligent and studious, though she struggles with numbers. Her favorite subject is National language, and she is particularly skilled at calligraphy. She is hardworking and self-assertive, always facing her club members with a severe demeanor because she wants them to succeed. Her development in the story involves learning to balance her competitive nature with cooperation, and she grows to respect and support her teammates even when they do not meet her exacting expectations.
