Description
Aqua Hoshino is the reincarnation of Gorou Amamiya, a rural doctor in his thirties who idolized pop star Ai Hoshino. After being murdered by an obsessive fan, Gorou was reborn as Ai’s son, retaining all memories from his past life. His twin sister, Ruby Hoshino, is the reincarnation of a terminally ill patient he once treated. As an infant, Aqua used his past-life memories to speak, walk, and use technology early, exhibiting advanced intellect. When he was four years old, Ai was murdered by the same stalker who killed Gorou, and Aqua witnessed the event. This trauma reshaped him, fueling his conviction that his biological father orchestrated the murder by leaking Ai’s whereabouts. He vowed to infiltrate the entertainment industry to find and kill his father.
Aqua has blonde hair and distinctive aquamarine eyes, with a star-shaped light in his right iris inherited from Ai. That star turns black during moments of intense negativity or vengeful resolve. After Ai’s death, he became cold, calculating, and emotionally distant, developing manipulative tendencies while still showing genuine care for those close to him. He is obsessively protective of Ruby. His acting skills rely on mimicry and quick thinking, and he gained proficiency in video editing while working as an intern for director Taishi Gotanda. Aqua initially believed his father was dead after discovering he had a half‑brother, which briefly softened his personality. Learning that his real father, Hikaru Kamiki, was a manipulative actor still alive triggered a mental breakdown, and both his eyes permanently displayed black stars. His final plan involved creating an autobiographical film about Ai to lure Hikaru. When Hikaru attempted to murder Ruby, Aqua intervened and staged a murder‑suicide, stabbing himself and drowning Hikaru to ensure Ruby’s safety. He died content, recognizing that his true motive was protecting his sister rather than revenge. Throughout his life, Aqua grappled with guilt over failing to save Ai and his past patient, which manifested as self‑loathing and an inability to pursue personal happiness.
