Description
Miss Goldenweek, whose real name is Marianne, is a former officer agent of the criminal organization Baroque Works. She served as the partner of Mr. 3 and held the codename Miss Goldenweek. She is a petite young girl, standing 145 centimeters tall, and appears younger than many of her fellow agents. Her background as a member of Baroque Works placed her in the Little Garden arc of the story, where she and Mr. 3 were sent to eliminate the Straw Hat Pirates.
Her personality is exceptionally laid-back and unhurried. She dislikes work and can often be seen taking breaks to enjoy rice crackers and tea, even setting up a picnic or tea party in the middle of combat. She speaks in a calm, almost detached manner and rarely displays strong emotions. Despite her relaxed demeanor, she is a capable and cunning fighter. Her primary motivation is not personal ambition or power but rather a sense of loyalty to her partner and her colleagues. After the fall of Baroque Works, her actions are driven by a desire to reunite with and rescue her former comrades.
In the story, Miss Goldenweek plays a supporting role during the Straw Hats' encounter on Little Garden. She uses her unique abilities to hinder Luffy and his crew, allowing Mr. 3 to execute his plans. She later appears in a cover story titled Operation: Meet Baroque Works, in which she takes the lead in orchestrating the rescue of imprisoned Baroque Works members, including Mr. 3, Miss Valentine, and even the former leader, Crocodile. This storyline shows a shift from a purely antagonistic role to a more resourceful and loyal figure. After the organization's dissolution, she finds work as a painter at the Spider's Cafe, living a peaceful life alongside other ex-agents.
Her key relationship is with Mr. 3. They operate as a team, with his wax-based traps and her emotional manipulation complementing each other. She also maintains ties with other Baroque Works officers, particularly the team of Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, during the rescue mission. Her personal development is subtle: she transitions from a passive, apathetic agent to someone who actively takes charge for the sake of her friends, and she eventually pursues her own identity as an artist, once painting a rainbow swirl in the sky to transform her fellow fugitives into their dream selves, revealing her desire to be a true painter.
Miss Goldenweek does not possess a Devil Fruit. Instead, she wields a technique called Color Trap. Using special paints and a brush, she creates colored marks or paints directly onto surfaces or even onto a target's body. Each color triggers a specific emotional or behavioral response: yellow forces uncontrollable laughter, blue induces sadness and lethargy, green brings calmness and relaxation, and red compels frenzied aggression. This ability allows her to manipulate opponents without physical strength, making her a dangerous psychological threat. She also has a bounty of 29,000,000 berries, indicating the World Government considers her a significant criminal.
