Akiko Nakagawa is a Japanese voice actress born on December 1, 1973, in Sapporo, Hokkaido. She is currently affiliated with Littlebird's Voice. Nakagawa is a graduate of the Entertainment Media Comprehensive Academy's voice actor course and also holds a degree from the Faculty of Law at Senshu University.
Her interest in voice acting began in her youth, sparked by a love for anime and tokusatsu, and further cultivated through involvement in theater during her middle school years. Despite initial opposition from her parents and teachers, she pursued her goal, moving to Tokyo for voice acting studies while attending university. Nakagawa made her professional debut in 1994 with the television anime Macross 7, voicing minor roles such as Flower Girl and Sivil.
Nakagawa is widely recognized for several long-running and prominent roles. She has been the voice of Miyuki Nanase in the long-running The File of Young Kindaichi franchise since 1997, appearing in the original television series, numerous specials, OVAs, and the 2014 sequel series The File of Young Kindaichi Returns. Another major role is Inori Yamabuki, also known as Cure Pine, in the 2009 series Fresh Pretty Cure!. She reprised this role in multiple Pretty Cure All Stars crossover films, solidifying her place within the wider franchise. She is also known as the voice of Sōta Higurashi in the popular series Inuyasha and its sequel, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon.
Beyond these signature roles, Nakagawa's career encompasses a wide variety of characters across different media.
