Description
Inori Yamabuki, nicknamed "Buki" by friends, is a reserved 14-year-old student at Christian Private White Clover Academy. Her calm, gentle nature contrasts with more outgoing peers, marked by kindness, protectiveness toward loved ones, and a strong desire to avoid conflict. She harbors deep affection for animals and aspires to become a veterinarian, inspired by her parents who run an animal clinic; her father, Tadashi, serves as her professional role model. Despite her quiet exterior, she struggles with significant self-doubt and excessive worry about others' opinions, leading to frequent embarrassment and hesitation.

Her civilian look features golden-orange eyes and ginger hair styled in a neck-length cut with a small side ponytail secured by a ribbon or bead accessory, layered bangs framing her face. She typically wears her school uniform: a white button-up shirt under a dull gold blazer with brown buttons, paired with a brown gingham mini-skirt, dark emerald collar ribbons, and brown loafers. Casually, she favors a pale yellow turtleneck under a pastel orange puffed camisole with dark green ribbon accents, a light blue skirt, navy knee-socks, and brown slip-ons. For dance practice, she wears a yellow parka with orange details, black bike shorts under a layered yellow mini-skirt, orange sneakers, and leg warmers.

Transforming into Cure Pine alters her appearance: her hair turns golden-blonde, longer and curlier, tied in a side ponytail with an orange ribbon featuring a yellow heart ornament, matching dangle earrings, and an orange choker. Her Cure outfit is a yellow dress with pale yellow accents, gold ribbon lacing, wing-like sleeves with orange stitching, and a four-leaf clover emblem on the chest. The skirt includes ruffled layers, complemented by burgundy tube socks and golden-orange boots. Her transformation sequence activates her Linkrun device with the shout "Change, Pretty Cure! Beat up!" and her catchphrase: "The yellow heart is the symbol of prayers! Freshly-harvested, Cure Pine!"

Cure Pine wields the specialized Pine Flute. Her signature attack, "Healing Prayer," forms a diamond symbol with her hands to emit a yellow energy stream for purification. Its upgraded version, "Healing Prayer Fresh," requires the Pine Flute to project a diamond-shaped projectile. In the movie *Fresh PreCure the Movie: The Kingdom of Toys has Lots of Secrets!?*, she performs the combined attack "Triple Fresh" with Cure Peach and Cure Berry. She also contributes to the group technique "Lucky Clover Grand Finale," channeling energy through the Clover Box. Later, she unlocks the "Cure Angel" form—featuring enlarged outfit details, fluffy wings, and enhanced abilities—via collective hope. In *Pretty Cure All Stars DX 2*, she assumes "Cure Rainbow Pine," resembling Cure Angel but with golden wings.

Her development centers on overcoming self-doubt. Initially declining to join Love and Miki's dance group due to shyness, she gains courage after transforming to save a client's dog, Lucky, from becoming a Nakewameke. This act ignites her faith in her abilities, leading her to join the dance team. She later confronts a longstanding fear of ferrets after a body-swap incident with Labyrinth's ferret-like fairy, Tarte; this fosters mutual understanding and deepens their friendship, leading her to affectionately call him "Tarte-chan." Her growth continues as she mentors Setsuna, sharing her journey to help overcome dance-related insecurities. On a cruise ship, she demonstrates increased confidence and initiative by collaborating with onboard animals, including a tiger, to defeat a Nakewameke.

Her relationships emphasize familial and interpersonal bonds. She respects her veterinarian parents, particularly her father, whose profession inspires her career path. Childhood friendships with Love and Miki provide emotional support, while her bond with Tarte evolves from initial fear to trust. Kirun, her yellow Pickrun, enables animal communication and powers her upgraded attacks. Classmate Kento Mikoshiba is implied to harbor a crush on her, though she remains unaware of his feelings.

Her name carries significance: "Yamabuki" combines "mountain" (山) and "blow" (吹), referencing her Pine Flute attacks and yellow theme via the "ki" in "buki," while also alluding to the Japanese kerria flower. "Inori" (祈里) means "prayer" or "faith," aligning with her role as the Cure of faith and attacks like Healing Prayer. "Buki" is a shortened form of her surname, and "Cure Pine" derives from the pineapple fruit.
