Mabel Rayveil, also known as Mabel Laybelle, is the final descendant of the Ice Clan and the guardian of the God-Freezing Sword, the Toushinken, a weapon regarded as the only effective means to oppose the Fire Dragon. Her emotional state exerts direct control over ice in her vicinity, with negative feelings causing both herself and her surroundings to freeze. She stands as one of the three primary love interests in the narrative. She has long blue hair and blue eyes, and is usually seen wearing a blue dress. Ice frequently forms on her person as a physical expression of her shifting emotions. Mabel exhibits a strong aversion to work but takes considerable pride in her military rank and enjoys feeling superior to others. She develops a profound soft spot for Ojisan, which causes her ice sword to melt when he is near. She also displays dog-like behavior around Sui, contemplating the possibility of relying on her for provision. Mabel lived a reclusive life in a freezing house within a village, dedicated to guarding the Ice Clan's legendary sword. The ice encasing the sword was destined to thaw only when her heart was warmed. Ojisan initially ignored her when she spoke of powa-powa flowers and childhood memories of her mother, choosing to defeat the Fire Dragon without her sword. This act rendered her purpose obsolete and led the villagers to chop down her treehouse. In retaliation, Mabel froze the feet of all 108 villagers and left. She later approached Ojisan, asking him to train her to become stronger. After he validated her reclusive lifestyle, she offered him the ice sword, which he refused due to its coldness, deepening her sorrow. This triggered an existential crisis that drove her to pursue him with a scythe-shaped ice weapon. Ojisan discerned her lack of intent to kill and cared for her after she collapsed. During this time, she confessed her actions against the villagers and her inability to tolerate work. Ojisan nearly thawed the sword completely by expressing his enjoyment of their conversations and gifting her a Cosmic Ring. However, his suggestion to sell the ring for a comfortable life caused her to berserk, refreezing the sword. Subsequent events involved misunderstandings with Elf, the formation of friendships with both Elf and Alicia, and participation in group activities, such as sharing a bed during Ojisan's unconsciousness. In later encounters, Mabel engaged in illusory battles with Ojisan, though they were actually conversing amiably. She fell under a mind-control spell, which Ojisan dispelled, leading to her dismissal from the military. She later inhabited a musical beast encampment, where Ojisan appreciated her singing and requested video game themes. When mercenaries targeted her, Elf intervened. She accompanied Ojisan to ruins, where he released a divine entity, precipitating a final battle. During the season's climax against a divine-energy-powered Fire Dragon, Mabel served as bait due to the dragon's hatred for her clan. Protected by allies Edgar and Raiga, she facilitated a charged attack by Ojisan and Elf. After the battle, Ojisan revealed his true name, but she expressed a preference for his pseudonyms. Mabel wields control over ice through the Toushinken, enabling her to freeze enemies and shape ice at will. She demonstrates skill in combining melee combat with ice magic. Her gear includes the God-Freezing Sword, the Robe of Beast for disguising as an animal, and two Cosmic Rings received from Ojisan. Her relationships include viewing Ojisan as a love interest, considering Elf and Alicia as both friends and rivals, and allying with Edgar and Raiga. She maintains vehement negativity toward the 108 villagers. It is revealed that her ancestors, the Ice Clan, descend from a Japanese samurai transported to their world 400 years prior.
