Description
Klahadore, whose true name is Kuro, is the former captain of the Black Cat Pirates. He is often called Kuro of a Hundred Plans or Kuro of the Thousand Plans for his reputation as a master strategist who never fails in his schemes. Disillusioned with the constant threat of capture from Marines and bounty hunters, he staged his death by using a hypnotized marine as a decoy. Assuming the identity of Klahadore, he became the butler of the wealthy heiress Kaya in Syrup Village. His ultimate plan was to kill Kaya and claim her fortune, allowing him to retire from piracy forever.
Kuro is cold, calculating, and devoid of sentiment. He is willing to betray and sacrifice anyone who stands in the way of his objectives, including his own subordinates. His demeanor shifts between the polite, composed butler and the ruthless pirate that lies beneath. Although he projects calmness, he is cruel and shows no remorse for his actions.
His motivations are deeply rooted in his desire to abandon the dangerous life of a pirate. Having experienced constant peril, he craves the safety and comfort of a normal, wealthy existence. This drive leads him to devise elaborate plans over several years, prioritizing his own survival over all else.
In the narrative of One Piece, Kuro is the primary antagonist of the Syrup Village arc. He serves as a foil to Usopp, who also uses deception and lies but for noble reasons. Kuro's attack on the village forces Usopp to confront his fears and take action to protect his friends.
Key relationships include his deceptive bond with Kaya, whom he intends to murder; his antagonistic relationship with Usopp, who exposes his scheme; and his partnership with Jango, a hypnotist who aids his plot. Kuro also interacts with the Straw Hat Pirates, particularly Luffy, who ultimately defeats him in battle. His relationship with his crew is utilitarian; he considers them disposable once they outlive their use.
Kuro experiences little character development. He remains steadfast in his goals and does not undergo any significant change or redemption. After his defeat, he is left alive but his plans are entirely ruined.
Kuro possesses exceptional speed, allowing him to move at velocities where he can barely be seen. He wears cat claws, sharp weapons attached to gloves, which he uses to slash his enemies. His technique Shakushi, also known as Death Scoop, is a high-speed attack that covers a wide area and can kill multiple targets indiscriminately, often hitting allies by accident. Another technique is Silent Step, which enables him to move without sound. His strongest move is Shishi Sonson, a brutal, indiscriminate assault. Despite his speed, Kuro has poor eyesight and requires glasses, and he lacks durability, making him vulnerable to powerful blows.
