Zungurii hails from the Gurii tribe in Grand Rolo. After most of his family was captured by the Otherworld King's forces, he met Dan Bashin, who aided in rescuing his brother Nonbirii. This forged a deep bond, with Zungurii developing profound admiration for Dan and aspiring to mirror his heroism. He demonstrated loyalty through practical acts like preparing meals, especially Dan's favored curry, though early failures sparked conflicts revealing his determination to contribute meaningfully.

His dedication to Dan persisted throughout their journey. Zungurii took part in crucial events, including destroying the Horizon Ladder to liberate his family. Despite this reunion, he chose to continue traveling with Dan and the core soldiers.
