A defining aspect of his character is his extremely high regard for the concept of freedom, a trait deeply influenced by his original Master. His background is rooted in the distant past, where he was born as the Embryo of an unnamed girl. After his Master died, Cheshire, having become an Infinite Embryo, continued to exist. He was one of fourteen such beings who arrived in the world that would become the stage of Infinite Dendrogram and began destroying its advanced civilization for unknown reasons. During this era, he was dubbed the Incarnation of Beasts, responsible for overrunning the northern side of the continent and destroying the Zweier Imperium. After conquering the continent, he used the abilities of the 1st Control A.I., Alice, to pose as a human and subtly adjusted the world's societal and cultural structures, preparing for the eventual arrival of Masters by promoting their existence to the native tians and introducing Earth culture. When the game officially began, he became known as Cheshire, the 13th Control A.I.. In his role within the story, Cheshire is a guide and tutorial figure, handling around half of all new player tutorials due to his extremely high multitasking ability. He is also designated to take care of various odd jobs related to the game's administration.
