Description
He Bufeng is a character from the animated series The Daily Life of the Immortal King. He is a student associated with an antagonistic faction, having been introduced as a member of the 59th Academy during the inter-high spiritual sword competition. His role in the story is primarily as an opponent and rival to the protagonists of the 60th Academy, where the main character Wang Ling is a student.

As a student of the rival school, He Bufeng is depicted as a capable and combative individual. During the Sword Competition, he demonstrates significant skill and power, engaging in a fierce battle with Chen Chao at the Altar of Metal. In this encounter, He Bufeng displays an aggressive personality, taunting his opponent by referencing past failures. He also shows tactical understanding of the battlefield, explaining the dangers of the Altar of Metal where leaves can cut like knives, which he then weaponizes against his opponent. He is described as having the ability to channel powerful negative energy in his attacks, and it is noted that he had not yet shown his full capability during his initial fight.

For a period, He Bufeng also appears as an ordinary high school student who is an admirer of the main female character, Sun Rong. However, he is rebuffed and moves on quickly. A significant aspect of He Bufeng's role in the plot involves him being an impersonation target. The leader of the Shadow Faction assumes his form as a disguise to infiltrate and manipulate the Sword Competition. On another occasion, the real He Bufeng is abducted alongside Wang Ling by the Shadow Faction just before the competition is set to begin.

In terms of abilities, He Bufeng is a practitioner of transformation magic. He is known to utilize the Advanced Transformation Spell; however, this version of the spell is noted to be less powerful than the Great Transformation Spell used by Wang Ling. A transformation using the Advanced Transformation Spell requires considerable practice to become familiar with, and the duration of the effect depends on the size of the object or creature transformed into. Furthermore, this type of transformation can cause discomfort to the user's soul, a limitation that the higher-level spell does not have. This detail highlights the gap in skill and power between He Bufeng and the series' protagonist.
