Description
Kenros, also known by his nickname Swift Kenros, is a demon who enters the tournament to select the next Demon King. He hails from a coal mining town near Mion Castle, and his father is a celebrated soldier serving the White Heavenly King in the western region. A graduate of the Demon King Mion Castle Academy, Kenros once worked delivering mail and milk, a profession he chose to make the best use of his prized legs.
Kenros possesses a carefree and pleasant personality, preferring to do things at his own pace. He is an extreme pacifist; despite having a respectable power level of 40, he has never been known to attack anyone or any monster, instead using his abilities solely for evasion and support. He is highly charismatic and friendly to everyone he meets, regardless of who they are.
His defining trait is his extraordinary speed. Kenros is incredibly fast, even outpacing the main character Helck in running speed when Helck is not using his dark aura. He is immensely proud of this, considering himself the fastest in the Empire. His endurance matches his speed, as demonstrated when he dodged the attacks of numerous Winged Soldiers for nearly five hours straight as part of a friendly competition.
Kenros acts as a key connection for the protagonist, Helck. He is the first demon Helck meets after being transported through a gate, and it takes him only a minute to open his heart to the human. Kenros becomes a friendly and amicable idolizer of Helck, acting as his self-appointed fan. He informs Helck about the Demon King Tournament and the whereabouts of the former Heavenly King, Azudora. Kenros participates in the tournament as Helck's chaperone, having no interest in becoming the Demon King himself. In the tournament, he displays his good-natured rivalry, once abandoning his mount to race Helck on foot, losing by a narrow margin but taking the loss in good spirits.
Later in the story, Kenros is given a more direct role as the head of one of the groups tasked with destroying towers constructed by humans. When his group is chased and surrounded by prototypes, he and his comrades are saved by reinforcements. Throughout these dangerous encounters, his commitment to pacifism remains unchanged, as he continues to dodge all attacks and assist his allies without ever striking an opponent. His core belief is a desire for peaceful coexistence, even with humans, and he remains a steadfast, supportive presence who values friendship and life above all else.
