Description
Cless is a central figure in the narrative as the hero of the human world and the younger brother of the protagonist, Helck. His life is defined by a deep bond with his older brother, forged through immense hardship and tested by the cruel realities of their world.

Cless's background is one of tragedy and perseverance. When he was only two years old, a monster attack destroyed his village and claimed the lives of his parents, forcing him and Helck into a life of poverty in the capital. At the age of six, Cless fell gravely ill, an event that led to the brothers being discovered in the snow by a girl named Sharuami. Her father, Rafaed, arranged for the powerful figure Mikaros to cure Cless, after which Rafaed took both brothers in and raised them. This rescue set Cless on a path toward the human kingdom's military. He joined the army at sixteen and, by the age of eighteen, had risen to become the leader of the 3rd Infantry. His skill and dedication culminated in his greatest public achievement: single-handedly defeating Demon King Tooru.

In terms of personality, Cless is characterized by his selflessness. He is a deeply caring individual who consistently attempts to put the needs and safety of others before his own. This trait is the foundation of his heroism and his unwavering loyalty to those he loves, primarily his brother.

Cless's role in the story is complex and evolves significantly. For much of the narrative, he acts under the control of the Human King, his will subverted by the kingdom's leadership. In this state, he becomes a formidable antagonist, forced to confront the very people he cares about. His power is augmented by Mikaros to match that of his brother, Helck. He ambushes Helck and the demon Vamirio, proving himself a fearsome opponent by breaking Helck's sword and pushing him back in combat. However, his inherent nature breaks through this control at critical moments, showing that the bond with his brother is not entirely severed. He ultimately defies his captors and takes drastic action to aid others, including going into hyperspace to facilitate the resurrection of winged soldiers. In the aftermath of the conflict, Cless's journey concludes with him assuming the throne as the new king.

The most pivotal relationship in Cless's life is with his older brother, Helck. Together, they survived a childhood of loss and poverty, creating an unbreakable familial bond. Their confrontation as enemies is a central emotional crux of the story, where Helck expresses joy at finding his brother alive while declaring he cannot forgive those who have hurt his comrade. It is Helck's unwavering determination to save him that causes Cless to hesitate during their battle. Beyond his brother, Cless also shares a significant connection with Sharuami, the daughter of Rafaed, who helped save his life as a child and for whom he develops a romantic affection. His skill as a swordsman earns him the respect of even his mentor, Rafaed, who considers Cless to be possibly stronger and better than himself.

Cless undergoes notable development, shifting from a celebrated hero of the human kingdom to a puppet of its corrupt rulers, and finally to an agent of his own will who actively works to undo the damage caused by his masters. His final act of becoming king represents a step toward forging a new path, not just for himself, but for the world he helped save.

Regarding notable abilities, Cless is an exceptionally powerful hero. He is a master swordsman, trained by the Human Empire, who thinks quickly on his feet in battle and has led numerous successful military expeditions. His most distinctive skill is the ability to destroy weapons, a talent he has mastered to an unparalleled degree. He famously managed to break the Hero Killer, a legendary sword capable of slaying other heroes. Physically, Cless possesses immense speed, strength, and reflexes, allowing him to keep up with and even initially overpower Helck in combat. He can create powerful shockwaves with a simple swing of his sword. While under the Human King's control, he also demonstrated the ability to shroud his body in darkness for a fearsome effect.
