Description
Abel Remno is the second prince of the Kingdom of Remno, a nation known for its military strength. He is first introduced as a student at the Saint-Noel Academy in the Holy Principality of Belluga, where he is a classmate of Mia Luna Tearmoon. At the start of the story, Abel is twelve years old. He is described as a good-looking young man who has inherited his mother's looks, with long eyelashes and attractive eyes.

Abel's personality is fundamentally kind and honest, and he treats women with a natural gentleness. This chivalrous attitude was instilled in him by his eldest sister, Valentina, whom he deeply admired. However, within the male-dominated culture of Remno, where martial prowess is highly valued, his gentle nature was often dismissed as weakness. Before the events of the main storyline, Abel had been worn down by constant failure, particularly in swordsmanship. He was perpetually defeated by his older brother, Gain, and the experience of witnessing the prodigious talent of Sion Sol Sunkland, a prince from a rival kingdom, shattered his confidence. Concluding that he lacked divine favor and could never rise above being a second-rate individual, he abandoned his training and resigned himself to a life of decadence, planning to be remembered only as a notorious playboy. In the original, doomed timeline, this path led to his assassination by a maid named Monica Buendia.

The trajectory of Abel's life is completely altered by Mia Luna Tearmoon. During a welcome ball at the academy, Mia publicly chooses the seemingly unremarkable Abel as her dance partner, rejecting the more talented Sion. When a bewildered Abel protests that he is not good enough for her, Mia responds by telling him to simply improve himself to become worthy, a moment of encouragement that reignites his lost ambition. This single act of faith from Mia serves as the catalyst for his character development. He joins the Horsemanship Club under the tutelage of his senior, Lin Malong, and resumes his swordsmanship training with a new, focused determination. His motivation shifts from proving his own worth to becoming someone deserving of standing by Mia's side, and he becomes completely devoted to her. In a later tournament, this dedication is put to the test when his brother Gain insults Mia; the resulting rage allows Abel to finally defeat his older brother using a uniquely honed version of the most basic form of Remno swordsmanship.

Throughout the story, Abel's key relationships are central to his identity. His connection with Mia Luna Tearmoon is his most important, evolving from a classmate to a devoted love interest, though their relationship often remains in a state of being more than friends but less than lovers. He shares a friendly rivalry with Sion Sol Sunkland, with whom he spars and for whom he feels a twinge of jealousy whenever Mia shows Sion familiarity. Abel's relationship with his older brother Gain is strained by Gain's contempt for his kindness, while his late sister Valentina remains a guiding moral force from his past. Lin Malong, who taught him to ride as a child, becomes a supportive senior figure who helps him rebuild his skills.

Abel possesses several notable abilities. His swordsmanship, once a source of despair, is transformed into a formidable skill through relentless practice. His style is characterized by immense strength behind his swings, making his attacks difficult to parry, and he eventually develops a powerful, almost unstoppable strike by mastering the fundamentals of his school to an extreme degree. He is also a skilled horseman, actively practicing with his club. Additionally, despite a lack of formal training, he is noted to be a better cook than the female characters in the series.

Abel's development is a story of a young man regaining his self-worth. He evolves from a cynical, defeated prince into a driven and capable individual who constantly strives for self-improvement. His devotion to Mia is so profound that it has nearly led him to make irrational decisions, such as wanting to directly confront his own sister when she posed a threat to her. In alternate timelines and the future of the main story, this devotion culminates in him marrying Mia, with whom he has eight children, and he ultimately becomes the grandfather of Miabel Luna Tearmoon.
