Description
Chikara Shigeno is a prominent character known as a Negator with the alias Unmove. He is a high school student who becomes member No. 11 of the Round Table, a group of Negators, before later taking the 12th seat in a subsequent timeline. Living a peaceful life in Japan before his introduction, his status as a Negator is discovered during a worldwide language unification event, as he can only speak Japanese, leading to his kidnapping by the mafia to be sold at a black auction. He is subsequently rescued and recruited by the organization.

In appearance, Chikara is a teenage boy of short stature, standing around 162 to 163 centimeters tall. He has light orange or brown hair with a long fringe that usually covers one of his eyes, a deliberate choice to help prevent his ability from activating unintentionally. He wears a standard schoolboy uniform but later adds the organization's emblem and tie. A distinctive accessory is a bracelet on his right wrist featuring two dice, which can be used as a hairband to pull his fringe back when he needs to employ his power.

Chikara is characterized by an extremely timid, anxious, and easily frightened personality. He has a strong aversion to violence and becomes distressed at the sight of blood or weapons, often shaking nervously. This anxiety can directly interfere with his abilities. Despite his fearful nature, he possesses a deep well of courage and strength that emerges when he is pushed to protect those close to him. He is kind-hearted and empathetic, and over time, he develops greater bravery and determination, becoming willing to risk his life for others without hesitation. In his private time, he enjoys watching variety and comedy shows and listening to radio programs featuring comedians. He has a particular fondness for mochi and a soda drink called Chikara Mizu, while he dislikes horror and graphic violence.

The central motivation driving Chikara is rooted in a tragic past. His Unmove ability first awakened by accident when he was in his first year of middle school. Returning home from shopping with his parents, he turned to look back at them while his arms were immobilized by heavy bags. This fulfilled the conditions for his power, causing his parents to freeze in place in the middle of the street, directly in the path of an oncoming truck whose driver had fallen asleep. When he moved to reach for his parents, he deactivated Unmove, and the truck struck them. His father died instantly, and his mother succumbed to her injuries a week later. Overwhelmed by guilt upon realizing his ability caused the accident, his mother's final words urged him to cherish the people who would be kind to him and to move for their sake when they were in trouble. He carries her memory and atonement as his core mission, vowing to live and use his power to help others, transforming his immense guilt into a resolve to save people.

Chikara's role in the story is that of a powerful support and defensive fighter. After being saved from the black auction by Andy and Fuuko Izumo, he chooses to join the organization to honor his mother's wish. His ability, Unmove, allows him to deny the movement of anything within his line of sight on the condition that his own limbs are completely still. This power can freeze enemies, halt barrages of bullets, and stop falling debris, making him an invaluable asset in combat. A significant weakness is that he cannot move while using it on his own, and his nervous trembling can prevent activation. To counteract these limitations, he receives special equipment from the scientist Nico Vorgeil. This includes a pair of goggles that black out everything in his vision except a target's silhouette, allowing him to freeze specific objects without affecting allies, and a Psycho-Pod, a floating device he can control with his brainwaves to move freely while keeping his body still to maintain his power. Later, he also uses a modified camera that can be locked in place for more focused use of Unmove.

His key relationships are central to his development. He shares a strong bond with Fuuko Izumo and Andy, who saved him and inspired him to join the fight. He develops a close friendship with Top Bull Sparx, a fellow member near his age, and the two train and fight together as a team. He also holds an affectionate admiration for Tatiana, another Negator, appreciating her personality. In his regular life, he has a best friend named Ryo, a supportive and athletic classmate. To protect Ryo from the dangers associated with Negators, Chikara makes the difficult decision to have his friend's memories of him erased.

Throughout the narrative, Chikara undergoes significant development. He begins as a guilt-ridden, fearful boy who can barely control his power. Through the support of his comrades and his own determination to atone, he steadily grows into a braver and more reliable ally. He learns to master his ability with the aid of technology and teamwork, even facing down UMA and powerful enemies without hesitation. In the 101st loop of the story, Fuuko actively works to prevent his tragic past, and with her help, his family is saved from the fatal accident. He ultimately still chooses to join the organization, but now on his own terms, bringing his parents with him to the Union's base and pursuing his dream of becoming a photographer alongside his duties as a Negator.
