Zhao Zhijing serves as a martial arts master of the Quanzhen Sect on Mount Zhongnan, wielding average martial skills and harboring professional jealousy toward his junior sect brother Yin Zhiping. When Guo Jing brings the orphaned Yang Guo to the sect for training, Zhao becomes the boy’s direct instructor. Rather than providing proper instruction, he neglects Yang Guo’s martial education, subjects him to physical abuse, and deliberately teaches theoretical principles while withholding practical combat techniques. As punishment for betrayal, Zhou Botong directs the sect’s poisonous Jade Bees toward Zhao Zhijing. Left defenseless against the swarm, Zhao dies from multiple bee stings.
