Description
Falin Touden is the younger sister of Laios Touden, and her disappearance into the depths of a dungeon is the central event that sets the story in motion. As a young woman of twenty-three years, she is a Tall-man (human) with a sturdy build, standing approximately 170 centimeters tall. She has fair skin, light brown hair of uneven length, and amber eyes. A notable physical trait is her nearsightedness, which often causes her to squint at things. Her typical attire consists of a white shirt and pants under a dark blue robe, paired with knee-high brown boots and a beret.

Falin possesses a gentle and kind personality, often described as aloof and carefree. Her compassion is notably broad, extending even to restless spirits and monsters that others might find repulsive or dangerous. She prefers to cast wards to avoid harmful ghosts rather than destroy them, arguing that dispelled spirits only reform later and would have suffered needlessly. This kindness is balanced by a fierce and reckless self-sacrificing streak. She does not hesitate to put herself in harm’s way to protect her loved ones, a trait she demonstrates most dramatically when she allows herself to be eaten by a dragon to save the rest of her party. Like her brother Laios, she has a passionate and somewhat unconventional interest in biology and magical creatures. When hearing about the monsters her brother has eaten, she reacts with amazement rather than disgust, a curiosity that extends to finding beauty in insects and other misunderstood life forms.

From a young age, Falin demonstrated a powerful, innate aptitude for magic. Her abilities are primarily sensory and instinctual rather than academic. While she is a specialist in gnome-system magic, her true strengths lie in reinforcement, recovery, and especially exorcism. Her magical talent is so natural that it often surpasses that of her formally trained peers, though she struggles to explain her methods logically. Despite her role as a primary magic user, she is also surprisingly strong physically, with a noted proficiency in wielding blunt weapons like maces.

Falin’s early life was marked by isolation. Her spiritual gifts made her a social pariah in her conservative northern village, a situation her older brother Laios resented. She eventually left to study at a magic academy, where she initially struggled to fit in, spending her time alone in the mountains. However, her undeniable talent caught the attention of Marcille, an elf mage who became her first and closest friend. The two share a deep, supportive bond, with Marcille deeply admiring Falin’s saint-like demeanor and Falin holding Marcille in high regard. Eventually, Falin left the academy before graduating to join Laios on adventures.

During an expedition into a dungeon, a hungry and exhausted party was ambushed by a Red Dragon. In an act of supreme selflessness, Falin pushed her brother out of the dragon’s jaws, taking the fatal blow herself. As she was being consumed, she cast a teleportation spell to send her comrades to the surface, ensuring their survival. This act of sacrifice is the catalyst for the entire narrative.

Later, the party successfully defeats the dragon and uses the remains along with forbidden magic to resurrect Falin. However, the resurrection has severe consequences. Her soul becomes partially fused with that of the dragon, and she is captured by the Lunatic Magician, who transforms her into a powerful dragon chimera. In this new form, she is a fearsome creature with the strength and ferocity of a dragon combined with her own spellcasting abilities, though her consciousness is largely suppressed and she is used as a tool by the magician. This tragic transformation forces her former companions into a desperate struggle, with Laios ultimately forced to confront his transformed sister.
