Description
Metry is a minor yet pivotal character in the events of Migi & Dali. She was the former housekeeper of the Ichijo family and the late mother of the triplets Migi, Dali, and Eiji. She also served as Akira Ichijo’s mistress. Her background is revealed largely through flashbacks: she had waist-length blonde hair and blue eyes, and was a young woman living in Origon Village. Eight years before the main story, she was accidentally murdered by her five-year-old son Eiji, who did not know she was his biological mother. Her death left Migi and Dali with only a snowflake button as a clue, setting the twins on a quest for vengeance and the truth behind her killing.

Metry’s personality is not extensively depicted in the series, but what is shown indicates a gentle and caring mother who loved her children. She worked as a housekeeper for the Ichijo household, where Reiko Ichijo, Akira’s wife, used her to produce heirs. Reiko wanted to pass off her husband’s illegitimate children as her own out of jealousy and a desire for control, and as a result, Metry gave birth to triplets. Reiko took the middle child, Eiji, for herself, while Metry raised Migi and Dali. This manipulation reveals Metry’s vulnerable position within the household and the power dynamics that led to her tragic end.

Metry’s motivations are primarily maternal. She appears to have sought a better life for her children and was caught in the schemes of the Ichijo family. Her role in the story is that of the catalyst: her death drives the central revenge plot of the twins, who infiltrate Origon Village to find the murderer. Although she is deceased for the entirety of the narrative, her memory looms large, and her character is explored through the twins’ investigations and the revelations about the Ichijo family’s secrets. Her relationship with her sons is one of deep affection; Migi and Dali remember her fondly and are willing to go to great lengths to avenge her.

Key relationships include her connection to Akira Ichijo, her employer and lover, and to Reiko, who exploited her. Her relationship with Eiji is tragic: he killed her accidentally as a child, unaware she was his mother. With Migi and Dali, she shared a close bond before her death, and the twins keep her snowflake button as a keepsake. Development around Metry occurs as the mystery unfolds: initially she is an unknown victim, but later her history and the circumstances of her death are fully explained, reshaping the audience’s understanding of the Ichijo family’s dysfunction. She has no notable special abilities in a combat or magical sense; her significance lies entirely in her role as a mother and the emotional core of the revenge narrative.
