TV-Series
Description
Kiwru is the prince of Ennakamuy, a nation affiliated with the Yamato Empire, and holds the position of sworn brother to the respected figure Oshtor. His background as royalty is contrasted by his unassuming and often self-conscious demeanor, making him a character who struggles with personal insecurities, particularly regarding his small physical stature, which becomes a frequent subject of gentle teasing from his companions.
In terms of personality, Kiwru is defined by his kind, gentle, and caring nature, often displaying a worrisome attitude toward the well-being of those around him. However, he is also easily flustered, a trait that becomes most apparent whenever he interacts with Nekone, for whom he harbors a deep and obvious crush. This infatuation is a significant part of his character, as his nervousness around her prevents him from effectively communicating his feelings. Despite considering him troublesome at times, Nekone does not genuinely dislike him. His respect for Oshtor is immense, serving as a primary motivator for many of his actions and his desire to prove himself worthy of that bond.
Kiwru's role in the story begins when he is sent by Oshtor to assist Haku with various tasks in the imperial capital. Initially, Kiwru is unaware that Oshtor and the masked figure Ukon are the same person, a revelation that deeply shocks him when he learns the truth. His primary motivation is to live up to the expectations of his sworn brother and to be a reliable ally to Haku and the group. Over time, he develops a strong respect for Haku's quick thinking and decisive nature, forming a reliable partnership with him. A key part of his character arc involves a comical yet revealing attempt to confess his love to Nekone. Due to his nervous habit of closing his eyes while speaking, he mistakenly confesses to another woman named Shinonon, who accepts his proposal, leading to a complicated and awkward engagement that he never intended.
Throughout the narrative, Kiwru maintains notable relationships that shape his development. Beyond his one-sided feelings for Nekone, he is often paired with Haku, who frequently teases him about his love life and his height. His bond with Oshtor is one of deep reverence and loyalty, motivating him to grow stronger and more capable. As the story progresses, particularly in the period following the main events of Mask of Truth, Kiwru matures considerably. Ten years later, he is described as being much more calm and collected, having largely overcome the easily flustered nature of his youth and moved past his intense crush on Nekone.
Regarding his notable abilities, Kiwru is a skilled archer who uses a bow as his primary weapon. He possesses considerable potential and is considered a competent fighter in his own right, capable of holding his own in battle. In combat, his fighting style and techniques are noted to be comparable to those of other skilled warriors. His physical appearance is characterized by blond hair, green eyes, and brown animal ears and a tail, which have a darker shade at the tips. He typically wears a choker and fingerless gloves, completing his distinct look as a young warrior.
