Master Bug is a reclusive hermit and a master Zoid Seeker from the anime Zoids Wild. He lives in a set of temples accompanied by his Zoid, Gyro, and is first introduced as the old master of Quade. Team Freedom seeks him out in episode 21 to gain his expertise. His personality is eccentric and strange; he often makes up stories and is largely oblivious to current events due to his prolonged isolation. He has a strong desire for books to fill his time. Despite his odd demeanor, Master Bug is a highly skilled Zoid Hunter with deep knowledge about Zoids and their behaviors. He pilots the Zoid Gyro and possesses considerable combat and hunting prowess. His role in the story is that of a mentor figure, having trained Quade in the past, and later offering guidance to Team Freedom when they seek his help. His key relationships include his former student Quade and, as revealed later in the series, his son, with whom he reunites in episode 45 and then travels the world. This reunion marks a development in his character, shifting from a life of isolation to reconnecting with family. While not a central antagonist, his wisdom and skills make him a valuable supporting figure in the journey of the main characters.
