Description
Malware, known as Caviar in the original Japanese version, is a fictional character from the anime Zoids Wild. He is one of the Four Dark Warriors, a group of elite antagonists serving the Dark Metal Empire. His background places him as an officer within the empire, where he oversees prison-like bases that function as facilities for Zoids research and experimentation. He operates directly under the command of Emperor Gigaboss, the ruler of the empire.
In terms of personality, Malware is depicted as ruthless, snively, and cunning. He is willing to dispose of allies who fail him, often using a trapdoor styled like his pointed teeth to drop them into his Overbyte, a device or Zoid that eliminates them. He has little regard for loyalty beyond its utility and is primarily driven by a desire for power and a willingness to use any means to achieve his goals. His behavior is consistently antagonistic, and he shows no redeeming qualities.
Malware's main motivation stems from his allegiance to the Dark Metal Empire and his personal ambition for authority and control. He seeks to further the empire's aims of conquest and domination, and he actively participates in battles against the protagonists, particularly Arashi and Team Freedom. His role in the story is that of a recurring antagonist who clashes with the heroes during their journey. He is responsible for operating the empire's research facilities, where Zoids are subjected to cruel experiments.
Key relationships include his subordination to Emperor Gigaboss and his status as a colleague among the other Four Dark Warriors, such as Drake. He is directly opposed to the main protagonist Arashi and his allies. Throughout the series, Malware does not undergo significant development; he remains a steadfast villain until his ultimate defeat. His notable abilities include his strategic mind for running operations and his command over his personal Zoid, Overbyte, which he uses in combat and to eliminate underlings. He is a formidable opponent in battle, though his exact piloting skills are primarily showcased through his Zoid's power.
