Ignacio Martinez, known as Chief, is a character who appears in the early episodes of the second season. He is a professional Megaloboxer whose career is primarily relegated to the lower-ranked rings and underground matches.
Chief is the de facto leader of a tight-knit community of immigrants known as the Casa. Warm, sociable, and kind-hearted, his rough exterior and initial cockiness belie a deeply good-natured and strong individual. He is a charismatic figure who is well-liked and respected, having earned his nickname by becoming a natural leader and pillar of support for the people in his community.
His primary motivation stems from a profound sense of responsibility towards his fellow immigrants. For years, he fought in rigged matches, deliberately losing bouts to earn money for the Casa. His ultimate goal is to buy the piece of land the community has made its home, a place they call mi casa es tu casa.
