Miō Tanaka is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on July 4, 1974, in Kita Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. He is affiliated with the agency Empathy and has a vocal range classified as a high baritone. After graduating from the Department of Performing Arts at Osaka University of Arts, he joined the theatre company Haiyuza, where he remained a member until February 2022. In addition to his acting career, he is also the bassist for a band called Air Language.

Tanaka has built a diverse career with notable roles in anime and film. He is recognized for playing Chief in the Megalobox series, including Megalobox 2: Nomad, and as Kan Mei in the Kingdom anime series. He voiced Merlin Albright in the golf-themed series Rising Impact and Roy B. Dipper in the anime Burn the Witch. His other significant anime voice roles include Juzo Nogizaka in Kaiju No. 8 and Barrett in Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. In the theatrical anime based on Tite Kubo's Burn the Witch, Tanaka joined the cast alongside Mugihito, Chikahiro Kobayashi, and Haruka Shimizu. He has also voiced characters in animated films, such as taking over the role of Kojiro Murdoch in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom.
