Description
Cap is a duelist and one of the primary rivals to Joe Kirifuda, introduced during the Duel Masters! season of the anime. He is a boy in his early teens, distinguished by his blue hair which has a fluid, water-like quality. His initial attire consists of a blue jacket, a white undershirt, white pants, and light yellow sandals. During the 10 Kings arc, his appearance shifts to a headless cap, a dark green sweater, lime green pants, and sandals.
Embodying the traits of the Water Civilization, Cap is highly respected in his homeland for his skills in research and database analysis. He is capable of identifying dimensional abnormalities and travels between dimensions using a waveboard. In social situations, Cap is quite approachable and handles non-threatening defeats with grace, contrasting with the more intense demeanor of some other masters.
His background reveals that he is a designer baby, created by Mother Brain. A defining event in his life is the conflict with his twin brother, Gap, over the protection of their homeland's lands. Following the defeat of Zeron, Gap sacrifices himself to shield Cap from Mother Brain, an event that profoundly shapes Cap's motivations and actions moving forward.
In the story, Cap serves as the Water Master who aligns himself with Joe Kirifuda, alongside allies Kira and Bolts. He employs a dueling strategy focused on Gacharange Creature spam tactics. His signature move is known as Papara Para Para Paradise Draw. His deck evolves throughout the series. In Duel Masters!, he uses a Water-based Super Gacharange Big Wave deck. By Duel Masters King, his deck shifts to a Water and Nature combination with a Team Wave focus. In Duel Masters King!, his deck features creatures from the Water Civilization RexStars race, supplemented by Team Wave cards.
Cap has an extensive duel record spanning multiple series. In Duel Masters!, he achieves six wins and three losses across nine duels, securing victories against Kindaichi Hakase and Gaia Hazard but losing to Joe and his brother Gap. In Duel Masters King, he defeats Agari and Godai but loses to Joe and Zero Jr. During Duel Masters King!, he overcomes opponents such as Esper Magi and Crysd, Sea Dragon God. His development culminates in Duel Masters King MAX, where he transfers to Joe's school and becomes a regular companion alongside Kira. He manifests King Manifest in the human world, solidifying his partnership with Joe. Although some of his duels occur off-screen, he participates in key attacks and honors his brother Gap's sacrifice through his ongoing actions to protect others.
