Description
Alissa is a witch who serves as the central figure of the story. Despite her youthful and petite appearance, she is over two hundred years old, with some sources indicating her age to be around 207 to 223 years. Her physical development is exceptionally slow, even for a long-lived witch, which contributes to her childlike physique and causes her to often be mistaken for the younger party in her relationships.

Alissa’s most defining characteristic is her profound kindness and love, which she extends to everyone she meets. This is most evident in her role as a mother. While living alone in a forest, she discovered an abandoned human baby and immediately decided to raise the child as her own, naming her Viola. Alissa is an extremely doting and indulgent parent, often wanting to spoil her daughter. Even as Viola grows into a tall and mature-looking young woman, Alissa continues to see her as her little baby and treats her with endless patience and affection. Her motivation is not just to spoil Viola, but also to raise her to eventually become independent, balancing her nurturing instincts with a mother's long-term hopes for her child.

Within the story, Alissa lives in a house in the forest and works as a skilled herbalist, supplying herbs and medicines to local shops. Her abilities lie in this area, as she cultivates materials in her home garden or gathers them during outings to create her products. A recurring source of comedy in her daily life is the public's perception of her family; because Viola is so much taller and more developed, strangers frequently assume that Viola is the witch and Alissa is her apprentice or even her young daughter.

Alissa has a small but significant network of key relationships. She is the mentor to Viola, having taught her magic and raised her since infancy. She has a close friendship with Lyra, a shop owner who helped Alissa navigate the challenges of being a first-time parent when Viola was a baby. Other witch friends, including Giriko and Luna, also appear in her life, adding to her social circle. While Alissa is largely oblivious to it, she is the object of affection for an elf merchant named Fennel, a fact that does not escape her fiercely protective daughter.

Alissa’s background reveals that she was not always the strong maternal figure she is today. As a child, her body and magical power were weak, causing her to fall ill frequently and require hospital care. Even then, her personality was notably strong, and she rarely cried. This history of frailty makes her current life as a capable, independent witch and devoted mother all the more significant. Her development is subtle but present, as she occasionally shows the strength of a mother in unexpected moments, revealing a firmness beneath her gentle exterior.
