Description
Puri-Puri Prisoner, also rendered as Pri-Pri-Prisonier, is an S-Class hero of the Hero Association, holding the rank of 17, and he serves as the leader of the inmates at Smelly Lid Prison. He is a muscular man with short black hair who typically appears in a pink prison-style outfit, and his presence in the story is shaped by his flamboyant and openly homosexual nature. His strong interest in good-looking male heroes and criminals is the reason he ended up in prison, as it stemmed from repeated acts of sexual assault against men. In a running gag, the criminals he apprehends are added to what is described as his harem.

His personality is highly expressive and theatrical, marked by open declarations of affection toward attractive men and a tendency toward absent-mindedness. One notable example is when he neglected to remove his sweater before bulking up for a fight and then blamed his opponent, the Deep Sea King, for the destruction of the garment. Beneath his comic and sometimes predatory exterior, he takes his duties as a hero seriously and is genuinely committed to protecting civilians. He is also prone to pride and acts with a certain bravado, but he has a warm and caring side that shows in his interactions with other heroes.

His motivations blend genuine heroism with personal desire. He willingly risked his life by escaping prison to confront the Deep Sea King and prevent further harm, and he consistently steps forward to fight high-level monsters. He also holds an unusual goal of rehabilitating monsters and criminals, going so far as to ask other S-Class heroes during a meeting to leave captured monsters to him so he could attempt to return them to human form. His unorthodox method of capturing criminals, which involves bringing them into his harem, highlights how his personal inclinations are intertwined with his hero work.

In the story, he appears as a supporting hero in several major conflicts. He engages the Deep Sea King during the invasion of the coastal city, fights alongside the S-Class heroes Bang and Atomic Samurai against the powerful monster Melzalgald, and takes part in the Hero Association's operation to invade the Monster Association hideout. His battles frequently provide comic relief, but he consistently contributes meaningfully against formidable opponents and participates in important S-Class strategy meetings and planning sessions.

His key relationships are with his fellow S-Class heroes. He works alongside Bang and Atomic Samurai against Melzalgald, shares camaraderie with heroes such as Tatsumaki and Metal Bat, and receives a transmitter from Child Emperor in preparation for the Monster Association invasion. He shows particular compassion toward Superalloy Darkshine, cheering him up after Darkshine suffered a devastating loss and lost his confidence. He also stands out in one S-Class meeting for treating Saitama with more patience than his colleagues, taking the time to answer Saitama's question about the fortune teller Shibabawa when others dismissed him due to his low rank. His romantic interest in attractive men frequently places him in awkward and comical situations with both allies and the criminals he pursues.

Over the course of the series, he demonstrates growth as both a fighter and a person. He openly admits to being the weakest S-Class hero, yet he continuously works to improve himself by developing new techniques. His fighting style evolves during the Monster Association arc, including a darker variation of his signature move that draws on advice he received from the Sea King. His support of Superalloy Darkshine also reveals a compassionate dimension that goes beyond his comic role.

In terms of abilities, he possesses immense physical strength, great durability, and regenerative capabilities, all of which are considerable enough to place him among the elite S-Class heroes. Rather than relying on single decisive blows like some of his colleagues, he tends to overwhelm enemies with flurries or barrages of punches. He is strong enough to blow holes in the bodies of Dragon-level monsters and to inflict damage on the Deep Sea King, even without full killing intent. He has developed several named techniques, including Angel Rush, Angel Crawl, a vibration-enhanced version, and the more aggressive Dark Angel Rush. Despite these considerable powers, he considers himself the weakest member of the S-Class and remains conscious of his limitations relative to the other top heroes.
