Description
Mizuki is a salaryman and war veteran who works at a blood bank in Tokyo during the 1950s. He carries a visible scar on his left eye, a lasting reminder of his experience in World War II. This wartime trauma instilled in him a deep fear of being exploited or ending up on the losing side, and it drives much of his behavior throughout the story. He is ambitious and eager to advance his career, which leads him to volunteer for a mission to the remote village of Nagura after the death of the head of the Ryuga family, a powerful clan that controls a pharmaceutical company he deals with. His official purpose is to pay respects, but his true goal is to uncover the secrets of a mysterious blood-based medicine known as M, a product that is rumored to grant extraordinary stamina and has allegedly been used to influence major historical events.
