Han holds the position of Third Rashō, one of three rulers governing the authoritarian Land of Asura. He achieved this rank through martial supremacy, having mastered the forbidden assassination art Hokuto Ryūken—a dark counterpart to Kenshiro's Hokuto Shinken. His life endures constant assassination attempts, claims stating he lost count after the hundredth. This relentless danger arises from being the physically weakest Rashō, yet he dispatches attackers with casual brutality or occasional sparing, motivated by amusement or disdain for their worth.
Standing tall at 191 cm with a muscular 105 kg frame, Han possesses piercing green eyes, slicked black hair, and a thin mustache. Official guides rate his appearance a perfect "5," noting design inspiration from Freddie Mercury. He exhibits immunity to poisons, demonstrated by consuming a full goblet of poisoned wine intended for him without effect, likely neutralizing toxins using his matōki energy.
His personality merges cruelty, profound ennui, and a twisted sense of honor. He kills without remorse, executing subordinates lacking ambition as worthless lives. He frequently laments deep boredom due to the absence of worthy challenges, passing time playing chess against himself. Despite ruthlessness, he shares a brotherly bond with fellow Rashō Hyo, suggesting underlying loyalty. This complexity surfaces when he spares some assassins, not from mercy, but for potential diversion or contempt. The corrupting influence of Hokuto Ryūken likely intensified his darker traits.
In combat, Han specializes in blindingly fast techniques generating hurricane-like forces, often moving too swiftly for the eye to track. His signature martial abilities include creating untraceable afterimages, wind-based cutting attacks like "Mabu Koso" (a body-enveloping tornado), and projectile energy blasts such as "Hakura Messei" (purple fireballs) and "Tougyoku Rengan" (aerial fireball bombardment). Speed is his greatest asset, surpassing fighters like Shachi. However, he lacks mastery of the "Anryu Tenha" technique associated with higher-tier Rashō.
His narrative concludes confronting Kenshiro. After Shachi presents Lin as a hostage, Han sees through the ruse and wounds Shachi. He battles Kenshiro in his personal arena, relishing the challenge. During the fight, Han reveals Kenshiro's birth within Asura, exploiting the shock for momentary advantage. Kenshiro damages Han's vision and delivers a fatal blow using "Hyakuretsu Ken." With his dying breath, Han warns Kenshiro he cannot defeat Hyo and only misery awaits in Asura. Hyo later recovers Han's body, conducts an Asuran funeral, and vows vengeance.
Beyond the core series, Han appears as downloadable content in "Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2." His fighting style incorporates grappling moves like German suplexes and kicks such as "Gai Ha Totsu Shuu" (Armor-Shredding Piercing Kick). The game features unique, non-canon dialogues where he expresses disdain for Jagi's ambition, respect for Souther as the "king of Nanto," and familiarity with characters like Raoh and Toki, showcasing his fixation on ambition and strength.
