Description
Kōji Oki is a B-rank Sniper for Border and a member of Ikoma Squad. He is a light-skinned young man of average build with short, messy, wavy black hair parted at the center, blue eyes, and a mole below his right eye. He is easily identified by the reddish-orange sun visor he wears with his vermillion and black uniform.
Oki is easygoing and confident, communicating with a playful Kansai dialect. He frequently adopts a flirtatious demeanor around younger girls, claiming he would like them to be his little sisters and professing that he would struggle to pull the trigger on them. His teammates widely consider this a good guy facade, a suspicion reinforced by his secretive nature regarding his personal life and persistent rumors of a hidden romantic partner. While he denies his popularity with girls, on the battlefield he is a willing and efficient fighter who shows no genuine hesitation.
In combat, Oki is a capable sniper recognized for his tactical awareness. During the B-rank wars, Osamu Mikumo singled him out as one of the key threats his team had to contend with. Oki employs a range of sniper triggers, including the Egret, Ibis, and Lightning, and supports his team with suppressive fire, counter-sniping, and careful positioning. He is highly cooperative and responsive to his captain's orders, contributing to Ikoma Squad's strength in the rank wars.
Within his squad, Oki shares a close and teasing relationship with his teammates Tatsuhito Ikoma, Satoshi Mizukami, and Kai Minamisawa. He is often the subject of their jokes about his social life. He also interacts with other snipers like Isami Tōma, reflecting the shared psychology and professional pressures of their role.
Outside of duty, Oki enjoys akashiyaki, oden, cats, shopping, and has recently taken up table tennis. His cat is officially listed among his family members. The origin of his signature visor was indirectly influenced by Taichi of Suzunari Branch, reflecting the small, interwoven details of Border's personnel. Throughout the rank war arc, Oki remains a steady and dependable element of Ikoma Squad's lineup.
