Description
Celia Claire is a central figure in the story, known as the daughter of the esteemed Earl Claire household of the Beltram Kingdom. She is hailed as the finest genius magician of her era within the Strahl Region, a reputation she has held since childhood. Her exceptional talent allowed her to skip grades, graduate from the advanced course at the Beltram Royal Academy, and become a lecturer at the royal institute by the age of twelve. Despite her noble status and youthful achievements, Celia is a kind-hearted individual who does not look down on people of lower rank and treats everyone with equal respect. Her warm and approachable personality is complemented by a love for refined activities like drinking tea. However, as a dedicated researcher, she has a somewhat messy and absent-minded side; when deeply engrossed in her magical studies, she can become oblivious to her surroundings and cooped up in her lab for days, and she is notably bad at housework.

Celia's most significant relationship is with the protagonist, Rio. Their first meeting occurred in the slums, and she later became his teacher at the academy after he helped rescue a princess. During their time at the academy, Celia was one of the few people who treated Rio with kindness and did not ostracize him due to his commoner background. They grew close, spending much of their free time together in her laboratory, where she taught him and he often helped clean her messy room. Over these years, she developed deep romantic feelings for him. When Rio was falsely accused of a crime and forced to flee the kingdom, Celia was the only person he came to say goodbye to, a parting that left her heartbroken.

Her primary motivation throughout much of the story shifts from academic research to personal freedom and protecting those she cares about. This change is catalyzed by a political coup that forces her into an unwanted engagement to become the seventh wife of Charles Arbor. On the day of her forced wedding, she was rescued by Rio, whom she asked to abduct her, and she fled the kingdom with him. During their escape and subsequent life in hiding at a remote stone house, Celia learned the truth about Rio's past life as a Japanese reincarnated person named Haruto. While in hiding, she adopted the alias Cecilia and used a magical tool to dye her hair blonde for disguise. This period also allowed her to meet other key characters from Rio's life, including the otherworlder Miharu, which initially made her feel insecure about her relationship with Rio.

Celia's role in the story evolves from being Rio's mentor and a sheltered researcher into an active participant in major political events. After being rescued, she becomes an important companion to Rio and the first princess, Christina Beltram, whom she helps escort to the Restoration, a faction opposing the current rulers of Beltram. As part of this journey, she serves as an assistant to Princess Christina and continues her work as a lecturer at an academy for noble youth. Her development includes a realization of her lack of practical combat experience, which she begins to address by undergoing training in simulated combat with other skilled fighters.

Regarding her notable abilities, Celia is a magician of the highest caliber. Her prowess is so remarkable that it is later hinted that her magical talent may stem from being a descendant of ancient divine sorcerers created by the Seven Wise Gods, with her specific abilities possibly being a case of atavism. As the story progresses, she learns not only conventional magic but also ancient forms, including powerful divine magic that astonishes even her enemies. During a critical incident, her activation of this high-level magic caused the antagonist Reiss to identify her as a high-priority threat, second only to Rio himself and his spirit companion, Aishia. Despite her genius and growing power, she initially required incantations to cast her most potent spells and has worked on refining her abilities through practice and teaching. Throughout all these trials, Celia remains a character driven by loyalty, kindness, and a quiet determination to stand by the person she loves.
