Description
Latifa is a young fox beastkin girl born in the Beltrum Kingdom of the Strahl region and is one of the main heroines of the story. Her early life was marked by severe hardship, as she was enslaved by Duke Gustave Huguenot. He subjected her to brutal training to become a disposable assassin, and she was also regularly abused by her half brother Stewart Huguenot. She was forced to address them as father and brother. Her mother came from the Seirei no Tami village and was a descendant of Ursula, giving Latifa a connection to the spirit folk. In addition to her traumatic upbringing, Latifa carries the memories of her past life as a Japanese elementary school student named Endo Suzune, who died in a bus accident alongside Haruto Amakawa, the person who would later reincarnate as Rio. These past life memories significantly influence her personality and her feelings toward Rio.

In the story, she is sent as an assassin to kill Rio after he leaves the kingdom. However, Rio defeats her, removes her enslaved collar, and takes her to a village inhabited by beast people, elves, and dwarves. During their time there, she confesses that she is a reincarnation from Japan. After being freed, Latifa begins to treat Rio like an older brother, calling him "onii-chan." She develops a deep affection for him that borders on dependency, and she becomes jealous when other girls show interest in him. Her personality is cheerful, energetic, and pure, but it is also marked by emotional instability stemming from her past abuse and the conflicting memories of two lives. She is kind-hearted and loyal, yet she can exhibit intense emotional swings, including moments of fear, possessiveness, and anxiety when separated from Rio.

Latifa’s primary motivation is to stay by Rio’s side and protect him, stemming from the gratitude she feels for his rescue and the lingering bond from their past lives. She also seeks a sense of belonging and safety after years of suffering. Her role in the narrative is that of a main heroine and a close companion to Rio, often providing emotional support and occasional combat assistance. She is deeply tied to the spirit folk village and becomes part of Rio’s extended family.

Her notable abilities come from her fox beastkin heritage, which grants her enhanced physical strength, agility, and keen senses. She was trained as an assassin, so she is skilled in stealth, close combat, and using daggers. As the story progresses, she continues to develop her combat skills under Rio’s guidance and learns to channel her spirit folk lineage, though her magical abilities are less emphasized than her physical prowess.

Latifa undergoes significant development throughout the series. She transforms from a broken, abused slave into a bright, loyal, and more emotionally stable young girl. While she still grapples with her trauma and her strong attachment to Rio, she gradually learns to trust others and find her own place in the world, becoming a symbol of redemption and the power of found family.
