Description
Orphia is a young high elf who lives in the village of the Seirei no Tami, a community of spirit folk. She comes from a distinguished lineage, as she is a direct descendant of one of the members of the village's elder council, and it is expected that she will eventually become a council member herself. Within the village, she holds several important roles: she serves as one of the village's warriors, as one of its priestesses, and as a lady attendant. Because of her standing and her duties, she is treated with great respect by the villagers and is regarded almost like a princess.

Her personality is cheerful and somewhat air-headed, which makes her approachable despite her noble position. She has a strong love for cooking and sewing, and all of her clothes are made by her own hands. Food is one of her particular interests, and she is always eager to learn new recipes from Rio, asking him to share any dish he knows and to bring back the recipes of any delicious food he tastes during his travels. In exchange, she teaches him the traditional recipes of the spirit folk, and this mutual exchange becomes an important part of their friendship.

When Rio first arrived in the spirit village, Orphia was among those who confronted and restrained him, alongside Sara, Alma, and the winged beastman Ursula. After it became clear that Rio had come to ask for protection for the young girl Latifa, however, her attitude changed. As a form of atonement, she joined Sara and Alma in becoming the caretakers of Rio and Latifa, living with them and helping them with whatever they needed. In this role, she helped the two newcomers settle into village life, and together with Ursula, she taught Rio the proper way to use spirit arts.

In terms of abilities, Orphia is highly skilled in spirit arts and is an accomplished archer. Her most notable ability is her contract spirit, a giant eagle-like being named Aerial, which allows her to fly through the sky. She can also fly on her own through her mastery of spirit arts, giving her great mobility in both daily life and combat. Her combination of spirit arts and bowmanship makes her a capable fighter as well as a devoted priestess.

Her key relationships are with the other spirit folk who share her duties. She is especially close to Sara and Alma, with whom she serves as a caretaker, and to Latifa, whom she helps look after. Her relationship with Rio deepens over time through their exchange of knowledge and recipes, and he comes to rely on her as a friend and ally. Her bond with Ursula is also significant, as the two of them work together to instruct Rio in spirit arts.

Over the course of the story, Orphia's role expands beyond the village. She eventually leaves the spirit village together with Latifa, Sara, and Alma to accompany Rio on his journey. In doing so, she grows from a village-bound priestess and caretaker into a traveling companion and supporter of Rio's party, while retaining the cheerful, helpful nature that defines her. Her development is marked by her growing confidence and her deepening commitment to the people she has come to care for.
