Description
Chloé is a young girl who first meets Kanna Kamui during a trip to New York City. She is the daughter of a wealthy company owner and resides in Minnesota, a fact that shapes her perception of the world and her personal struggles. During a quarrel with her father, Chloé runs away from home, an act that leads to her being pursued and kidnapped by unsavory individuals connected to her father's business conflicts. It is during this vulnerable moment that Kanna saves her, forging the central connection of her life. Grateful for the rescue, Chloé shares a day of fun with Kanna, and in turn, Kanna reveals her true identity as a dragon to Chloé, a secret Chloé keeps faithfully.

In terms of personality, Chloé is generally cheerful and energetic, often displaying a bright smile. However, this exterior masks a sense of loneliness and sadness. She admits that before meeting Kanna, she had never experienced such genuine fun with a friend, which explains her reluctance to return home and her initial flight from her own life. This internal conflict between her privileged but potentially isolated upbringing and her desire for authentic connection is central to her character.

Her role in the story is that of a close friend to Kanna and an occasional visitor to Japan. Following their initial encounter, Chloé returns to her home in Minnesota, but their bond persists. She later travels to Japan to spend time with Kanna, immersing herself in the local culture and daily life. During these visits, she interacts with the wider circle of characters, including Kobayashi and Tohru, who guide her during her sightseeing trips. These experiences highlight the cultural differences between her American upbringing and Japanese customs, but she approaches them with an open and curious nature.

One of Chloé's most significant relationships is with Riko Saikawa, Kanna's classmate and close friend. Initially, Riko views Chloé as a rival for Kanna's affection, creating a one-sided tension. However, this dynamic gradually softens as the two get to know each other, eventually developing into a genuine friendship. Chloé's perception of wealth sometimes leads to unintentional faux pas, such as accidentally insulting the size of Riko's house, which is merely ordinary in her experience. Chloé also interacts with Kanna’s dragon family, including an offer for Kanna to move to America with her, a suggestion she ultimately withdraws after understanding Kanna's deep attachment to her life in Japan.

Throughout her appearances, Chloé shows noticeable development. She evolves from a runaway girl who was afraid to be honest with her father to someone who accepts returning home and maintaining a long-distance friendship. Her generosity is notable; after promising to send sweets to Kanna and Riko, she goes so far as to send an entire professional pastry chef to them in Japan, a grand gesture that reflects both her wealth and her earnest, big-hearted nature. Aside from her human characteristics, Chloé has no supernatural abilities of her own, but her courage and loyalty make her a trusted confidante of a dragon.
