Description
Edgeshot is the hero alias of Shinya Kamihara, a professional hero in Japan known as the Ninja Hero. He is a man in his early thirties with a slim build, standing at 170 centimeters tall. Edgeshot has light gray hair styled with a long fringe that covers the right side of his face, and his eyes are typically depicted as gray or black. His hero costume is a modern interpretation of traditional ninja attire, featuring a dark blue and red color scheme. He wears a red scarf that covers the lower half of his face, a demonic-looking mask on his right shoulder, and traditional Japanese sandals over tabi socks, which reinforces his commitment to his ninja aesthetic.

Edgeshot is characterized by his calm, reserved, and serious demeanor. He is a man of few words who rarely shows emotion, maintaining a stoic and professional composure even under extreme pressure. Despite his quiet nature, he is not cold; he demonstrates a strong sense of empathy and responsibility. He is known to be supportive of his fellow heroes, offering reassurance to those who are doubting themselves and guidance to younger, more impulsive colleagues. His private life is almost entirely kept from the public eye, which adds to his mysterious and enigmatic persona.

As a top-ranking hero who rose from the number five to the number four position, Edgeshot's motivations are deeply rooted in the ideals of heroism. He is not driven by fame or public recognition but by a genuine desire to bring peace and stability to society. This is best exemplified by his willingness to sacrifice his own well-being to ensure the survival and success of the next generation of heroes.

Edgeshot's Quirk is called Foldabody. This ability allows him to flatten, stretch, and thin his body to an extraordinary degree, effectively turning himself into a long, razor-sharp thread. He can manipulate this form at supersonic speeds, granting him remarkable mobility and precision. He uses this Quirk to slip through the smallest cracks for infiltration, to launch piercing attacks from a distance, and to wrap around targets. He can also enter a person's body through their mouth or nose, then slightly expand his form to render them unconscious from the inside without leaving external injuries.

His signature technique is the Senmaidooshi, or Thousand Needle Piercing. This move involves him stretching his body into a hyper-dense, needle-thin lance and thrusting at a target faster than the speed of sound, capable of piercing through solid matter and defeating multiple opponents in an instant. In the final arc of the story, he develops a more advanced application of this technique called Senmaidooshi Kiwami. By making his body as thin as a surgical suture, he can perform an incredibly precise internal procedure, using his own folded form as living threads to stitch wounds and repair damaged organs from the inside.

Edgeshot is a graduate of U.A. High School, where he was a senior member of the arts and crafts club, with Best Jeanist as his underclassman. In the main story, he is often seen working alongside other top heroes. Following the retirement of All Might, he took the initiative to form a hero team known as the Lurkers, alongside Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods, to more effectively combat the rise in villain activity.

Edgeshot plays a significant role as a reliable and powerful supporting hero. He is first prominently featured in the Kamino incident, where he aids in the mission to rescue Bakugo from the League of Villains. His skill is crucial for infiltrating the hideout and neutralizing the villain Kurogiri before he can warp the villains to safety. During the war against the Paranormal Liberation Front, he serves as a squad leader and engages powerful enemies, including the villain Re-Destro.

His most defining and crucial act occurs during the final battle against Tomura Shigaraki. When the young hero Katsuki Bakugo suffers a fatal injury that stops his heart, Edgeshot makes an immediate decision to save him. He uses his Quirk to enter Bakugo's body and performs a life-saving surgery, becoming a living suture to mend Bakugo's destroyed heart and lungs, effectively offering his own life force to become the boy's new heart. This act of supreme self-sacrifice highlights the story's theme of the older generation protecting and nurturing the future, cementing Edgeshot not just as a skilled fighter, but as a hero who embodies the very essence of the profession.
