Description
Andro M. Jazz is a sixteen-year-old demon student at Babyls Demon School and a member of the problematic class known as the Misfits, alongside Iruma Suzuki. He stands approximately 174 centimeters tall and has short black hair, red eyes, and pierced ears, typically wearing a tattered black shirt under his school uniform jacket. On each of his ten fingers, he wears a gold ring that rattles with unnecessary movement, serving as a training tool to refine his precision. Jazz is the second son of the Andro family, a lineage of thieves whose philosophy holds that the victim is at fault for being stolen from and that wickedness is a form of beauty. His older brother, Rock, is a more talented and malicious thief who constantly belittles and steals from him, which deeply influences Jazz’s desire to be a kind and protective older figure to others. Jazz has a relaxed and laid-back personality, often maintaining a stoic poker face, but he also struggles with a compulsive habit of stealing that led to his placement in the Misfit Class. He deeply wants to be seen as reliable and finds it nearly impossible to refuse a request for help, embracing the role of a big brother to his classmates. His inherited bloodline magic, called Pit or Furtive Glance, allows him to see what a target is hiding and identify the most efficient route to steal it. He has also mastered the Serpent Thieves technique, which lets his fingers move with snake-like flexibility for flawless theft. Jazz uses transformation magic to disguise his appearance and voice, and he learns to perform non-verbal magic. His familiar is a Spirit Wolf named Spoo, but contrary to its fearsome reputation, it manifests as a small, cute puppy, a fact Jazz initially keeps hidden out of embarrassment. During the Royal One acquisition arc, he successfully stole the diary of the strict teacher Naberius Kalego. In the Harvest Festival, he partnered with Allocer Schneider to scam other students for points, though he was disqualified after retaliating against an opponent who used traumatic magic against him; even after elimination, he continued to guide Allocer from the sidelines. After the Music Festival, his rank was promoted to Daleth (4). Jazz is particularly close with Allocer Schneider, and he shares a strong bond with Shax Lied, who calls him Jazzy. He holds deep respect for Iruma Suzuki, viewing him as someone to protect and once declaring him a second little brother. His complex relationship with his older brother remains a significant influence on his motivations and his determination to be better than his family’s legacy suggests.
