To cope with the stress and anxiety, Claudia turns to depressant drugs. Her destructive habits come to a head when her lover, Io Fleming, discovers her in the midst of a dangerous overdose and intervenes to help her recover.

Levan Fu, a powerful Newtype and religious leader, uses his psychic abilities to suppress her traumatic memories and guilt. This effective brainwashing removes the emotional burdens that once crippled her command abilities. Eight months after the war, Claudia emerges as a commander within the South Seas Alliance, now a rogue faction seeking to break away from the Earth Federation. In this state, she demonstrates significantly improved tactical and leadership skills, as she is no longer hindered by her past anxieties and drug dependency. Her notable abilities lie in her strategic planning and command, which were initially overshadowed by her psychological fragility but become fully realized under the influence of the South Seas Alliance, though at the cost of her free will.
