Toa Yukinari

Description
Toa Yukinari is a Japanese voice actress born on May 11 in Nagasaki Prefecture and is affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision. Her path to a voice acting career was somewhat unconventional. While in high school, she was a member of the broadcasting club and first considered a career in voice acting after seeing a magazine advertisement for the Japan Narration Actor Institute. However, she did not enroll immediately, instead choosing to attend junior college to study nursing. After graduating, she decided to pursue her original interest and enrolled in the institute, attending classes three times a week to begin her training.

Yukinari's professional career began in 2010, with early roles in series such as Naruto, Nichijou, and Steins;Gate. Her first major breakthrough came with the role of Casca in the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc film trilogy from 2012 to 2013, a character she would reprise in the 2016 Berserk television series. This performance established her as a voice for strong, complex characters and remains one of her most recognized roles.

Throughout her career, Yukinari has demonstrated considerable range, taking on a wide variety of characters across different genres. She has voiced the calm and collected Claudia Peer in the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt series, the boisterous and fun-loving Azusa Hamaoka in Grand Blue Dreaming, and the diligent NK Cell in the educational comedy Cells at Work! and its sequel. In 2024, she took on a leading role as Eiko, a resistance fighter from the future, in the Netflix anime series Terminator Zero. Other notable anime roles include Rin Kashii in Battle Game in 5 Seconds, Rose Aleon in Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story-, Hilma Cygnaeus in Overlord, Edokia Colorha in Record of Grancrest War, and Sorami Azuma in Riddle Story of Devil.

Beyond anime, Yukinari is also an active voice actor in video games. Her game roles include Bullet in the BlazBlue series, Ash in Apex Legends, Hollyberry Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom, and several characters in the mobile game Onmyōji, such as Ubume and Seimei. She has also lent her voice to the Japanese dubs of foreign films and series, most notably as the Japanese voice of Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to on-screen work, she is involved in rōdoku-geki, a form of dramatic reading theater, an art she has practiced since high school when she was a national finalist in the discipline. Her voice is also used for the Tobari Yagato voice synthesis software.
