ONA
Description
Kiriko Nanbu is the primary antagonist of the anime My Daemon. He is a rare and powerful mutant Daemon known as the Restoration Daemon, a unique creature capable of speaking the human language. His true nature is hidden beneath the appearance of a teenage boy, an identity he assumed after a tragic accident. One year prior to the main events of the story, Kiriko witnessed a car accident that killed a human boy. He took possession of the deceased youth's body, restored it to life, and began living among humans under the boy's name.

As a being who has witnessed the relentless persecution of Daemons by humanity, Kiriko harbors a deep-seated hatred for humankind. He believes that peaceful coexistence is an impossibility and that Daemons will never be free from oppression unless humanity is destroyed. To this end, he formulates an extreme plan: to resurrect Pandaemonium, a colossal and destructive Daemon that once devastated cities, and use its power to annihilate the human race, creating a safe haven for his kind. His personal history is marked by the cold-blooded murder of the original Kiriko's parents, whose bodies he left to rot in a closet, demonstrating the lengths to which he will go to maintain his cover.

Kiriko's primary role in the story is that of a manipulative mastermind who feigns friendship with the young protagonist, Kento, and his Daemon companion, Anna. He offers them shelter, knowing that Anna's unique storage ability is the key to breaking the indestructible case that holds a fragment of Pandaemonium's claw. He exploits Kento's desperate wish to revive his deceased mother, using his restoration powers to create a duplicate of her body, which he then possesses to emotionally manipulate the boy. This act of deception is a pivotal point in his relationship with Kento, turning the boy's hope into a tool for his genocidal scheme. His key relationships are defined by this exploitation: he sees Kento as a pawn, Anna as a necessary instrument, and Kaede, another ally of Kento's, as an obstacle to be eliminated.

Throughout the narrative, Kiriko undergoes little emotional change, remaining steadfast in his conviction that humanity must be eradicated. However, his development is marked by a slow escalation from a secretive manipulator to an open, world-ending threat. After successfully resurrecting and merging with Pandaemonium, he lays waste to the city of Hakata, forcing the Japanese military to consider launching nuclear missiles as a desperate countermeasure. It is only in his final confrontation, after being defeated by Kento and Anna within Anna's storage dimension, that a shift occurs. Impressed by Kento's unwavering determination and commitment to finding a peaceful path, Kiriko concedes defeat. He agrees to give the boy's idealistic vision a chance, promising to return and finish his mission if peace fails. In his final moments, he shows an unexpected sliver of honor, requesting that his host body's student ID be buried as a funeral rite.

The source of Kiriko's power is his restoration ability. This allows him to repair any broken object or restore any living being to its original state, even from a small fragment like a shard of bone or a claw. In combat, he uses this power lethally by throwing shards of broken weapons at his enemies and then restoring them, causing the objects to reform inside their targets. He can also use this ability on himself, making him exceptionally difficult to kill, and once he merges with Pandaemonium, he can instantly heal any damage the giant Daemon sustains. He is also highly intelligent and a master of psychological manipulation, skillfully playing on the emotions of children to achieve his goals. The rumor of a Time Daemon, which Kento seeks, originates from sightings of Kiriko using his restoration powers.
