Description
Hitonari Hiiragi belongs to a family deeply entrenched in competitive basketball: his father coaches the powerhouse Hyamazaki team, and his older brother Takuya shines as a national star on that squad. This legacy imposes intense pressure and expectations for him to follow their predetermined path. Choosing independence, he defies his family by enrolling at Kouzu High instead of his father's school—an act that leads to his expulsion from home, forcing him to live alone.

His basketball skills reflect a "thoroughbred" player, marked by continuous growth, exceptional versatility, and precision as a Point Guard. Though dedicated to the sport, he habitually skips classes to nap on Kouzu High's roof. His motivation for joining Kouzu’s basketball club stems partly from rival Akane Tachibana, whose talent captivated him during earlier encounters.

Interactions with Akane and the Kouzu team initially reignite his passion, driving him to forge an identity beyond his family's shadow. But this resolve falters when his family redoubles efforts to recruit him to a "better" team. Their pressure fuels inner conflict: he questions Kouzu’s capacity to fulfill his ambitions, doubting teammates with disparate skill levels and approaches to the game.

This turmoil culminates in his transfer to another school, setting up a direct on-court confrontation against his former Kouzu teammates. Throughout, he wrestles with balancing his competitive fire against the value of teamwork, reevaluating why he plays basketball and what matters beyond victories or family legacy. His journey embodies a struggle to define success on his own terms amid rivalries, loyalties, and personal aspirations.
