Description
Jewlulu is a central character introduced in the third season of the anime PriPara. She initially appears as a mysterious baby who falls from the sky and lands in the hands of the main character, Laala Manaka. Convinced that Laala is her mother, Jewlulu is taken in and cared for by Laala, who decides to look after her until her real mother can be found. Her true identity is eventually revealed to be Jewlie, a goddess whose role is to guide idols on the path to becoming a Divine Idol. After the events of the Kami Idol Grand Prix, Jewlie gives her former divine duties to her younger sister, Janis, and takes on a new job delivering PriTickets to aspiring idols across the world.
In her infant form as Jewlulu, she has a playful and mischievous personality, often causing trouble for Laala, who struggles to keep her hidden while at school. She is easily upset but also enjoys listening to music and playing. Despite her naivety as a baby, she possesses a comforting and kind nature, which becomes more apparent in her matured form as Jewlie. Even after her transformation, she retains a calm and easy-going demeanor, showing deep affection for Laala, whom she continues to view as a mother figure. The bond between them is strong and almost inseparable, a testament to the time they spent together.
Physically, Jewlulu resembles the character Falulu, sharing similar sleepy eyes. As a baby, she has short, pastel green hair pulled into a small curled bun on top of her head, light fuchsia eyes, and distinctive white eyelash markings above each eye. She wears a simple white one-piece with a badge on the chest and pale blue headphones on a gold band. She rests inside a special green compact carrier that Laala keeps with her. In her true form as Jewlie, she is a tall, pale-skinned goddess with long, pale mint hair styled in a complex updo, featuring a split ponytail, a bun, and loops held by braids. Her eyes are pale purple, and she wears gold and blue jeweled headphones. As a Premium-type idol, her preferred brand is Rosette Jewel.
Her key relationships are primarily with the idols who care for her during her time as a baby. She refers to Laala as "mama" and becomes distressed whenever Laala denies this. She is also cared for by Non, who learns how to handle a baby from the experience, and by Mirei, who tries to teach her words. Jewlulu cannot speak properly, famously learning the word "momo," meaning peach, and calling Mirei "Mimi" because she cannot say her name correctly. Her relationship with her twin sister, Janis, is initially strained, as Janis believes Jewlie is too irresponsible as a goddess. However, Jewlie’s caring nature and her actions on Janis's behalf eventually lead to their reconciliation. She also respects her older sisters, Falala・A・Larm and Garara・S・Leep.
Her role in the story drives the Divine Idol Challenge arc. After Laala finds Jewlulu, she is eventually transported to the Divine Idol Stage where Jewlie gives her the Cyalume Dream Mic, allowing her to perform a Divine Challenge Live. Jewlulu’s presence and needs involve many other characters, and the quality of care she receives is tied to rewards like special coords. In her final role as a PriTicket delivery girl, she continues to support the idol world from a different position, ensuring new talents can begin their journeys. Her notable abilities include her divine power to grant wishes and oversee the Divine Idol Grand Prix. As an idol, she is a skilled performer, and her microphone is of a unique model, similar to those used by characters like Kanon.
