Description
In Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie, the character known as Chibi Chibi is a mysterious little girl who appears without warning, floating down from the sky using an umbrella as a parachute. She presents with the appearance of a toddler, roughly two years old, with distinctive dark pink hair styled into two heart-shaped odango and large blue eyes. Her attire consists of a white long-sleeved shirt accented with a dark pink bow and a light pink heart-shaped brooch at its center, paired with a blue skirt and a blue back bow, white socks, and white shoes adorned with pink hearts.

Regarding her background and true identity, Chibi Chibi is not what she initially appears to be. She is in fact the disguised form of Sailor Cosmos, who is the ultimate future incarnation of Sailor Moon herself, originating from a distant era. In this film adaptation, which faithfully follows the original manga storyline, she is not related to Chibiusa nor is she a second daughter of Usagi Tsukino, despite initial speculation from the other characters. This version of Chibi Chibi is distinct from her counterpart in the original 1990s anime, where she was depicted as the starseed of Sailor Galaxia.

Chibi Chibi exhibits a personality that is notably sweet-natured and generally agreeable. Unlike the more rambunctious Chibiusa, she causes little trouble for her caretakers. In the film adaptation, she is portrayed as less purely childlike than her original anime counterpart and demonstrates a level of maturity that hints at her true nature. Her speech is initially limited, but she is capable of more than just parroting her own name, displaying an intelligence that belies her youthful guise.

Her primary motivation for appearing in the past is to influence her predecessor, Usagi Tsukino, during the final battle against Sailor Galaxia at the Galaxy Cauldron. Sailor Cosmos, having witnessed an endless and devastating war against Sailor Chaos in her own future, traveled back in time under the disguise of Chibi Chibi. She initially sought to convince Sailor Moon to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, believing this was the only way to permanently eradicate the entity known as Chaos and prevent the suffering of her era.

Within the story, Chibi Chibi serves as a crucial guide and a beacon of hope. She arrives at the Tsukino household and, through mysterious means, causes the family to believe she has always lived there, though Usagi herself remains unaffected. Chibi Chibi also carries a golden incense burner, which is later revealed to be the vessel protecting the spirit of Princess Kakyuu from Sailor Galaxia. When the situation demands, she demonstrates the ability to transform into her own Sailor Guardian form, known as Sailor Chibi Chibi, to assist in battle.

Her key relationships center almost entirely on Usagi Tsukino, who acts as her caretaker. The other Sailor Guardians and the Sailor Starlights are initially perplexed by her origin, but they ultimately accept her as an ally. Her relationship with Chibiusa is clarified to be non-familial, as Chibiusa herself states she feels no connection to the mysterious child. The most significant relationship is ultimately revealed to be with herself; Chibi Chibi is interacting with her own past identity, seeking guidance from the Sailor Moon of the 20th century.

The character undergoes significant development as the film reaches its climax. When Sailor Moon refuses to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, arguing that to do so would end all possibility of rebirth and hope, Chibi Chibi is initially distraught. However, witnessing Sailor Moons unwavering resolve and her choice to sacrifice herself to purify Chaos from within inspires Chibi Chibi. At this pivotal moment, she sheds her disguise and reveals her true form as Sailor Cosmos to Sailor Moon. Having regained her own hope and courage from the actions of her past self, Sailor Cosmos resolves to return to her own bleak future, determined to continue fighting against Chaos without abandoning the Cauldron.

Chibi Chibi possesses several notable abilities. She is capable of teleportation, able to move herself and others across vast distances, including within Sailor Galaxias domain. She can also transform into the Sailor Guardian known as Sailor Chibi Chibi. Furthermore, she has the power to transfigure her own form; most notably, she can turn herself into a sword intended to be used against Sailor Galaxia. In her true state as Sailor Cosmos, she wields the immensely powerful Cosmos Crystal.
