Description
Megumi Hayashida, more widely known by the nickname Lindaman or Rindaman, is a student at Suzuran All-Boys High School. He earned the fearsome epithet Rindaman the Murderer due to his legendary reputation for having never lost a fight, a feat that makes him a virtually untouchable figure within the school's violent hierarchy. Physically, he is enormous, standing a head taller than most of his peers, and his sheer size alone often intimidates opponents. His personality is defined by extreme taciturnity and aloofness; he rarely speaks and maintains a detached, solitary existence. He has no interest in the constant power struggles and factional warfare that define Suzuran, preferring to observe from the sidelines or skip school altogether for work. Despite his disinterest in conquest, he never backs down from a challenge and will crush any opponent who seeks to prove themselves by defeating him, holding nothing back.

In the film Crows Explode, Lindaman serves as the ultimate obstacle for the protagonist Kaburagi Kazeo. After Kazeo unites the school and claims the top position as the strongest fighter, the final scene presents Lindaman standing before him, ready to fight, with the outcome left unresolved. This role underscores his status as the insurmountable mountain that each generation of Suzuran's would-be conquerors must eventually face. Key relationships are minimal due to his isolation, though the protagonist Harumichi Bouya from the original manga managed to draw out a more emotional side from him. Among his peers, he is feared and respected, with wild rumors circulating about his past—claims that he single-handedly defeated dozens of opponents, some of whom supposedly died from their injuries.

Throughout the series, Lindaman undergoes little overt character development, remaining a constant, almost mythic presence. His motivations are never fully explained; he appears content to live outside the school's social and combat dynamics, intervening only when challenged. His notable ability is his unparalleled fighting strength, which is so overwhelming that no one in the school has ever successfully defeated him. This makes him both a legend and a benchmark for anyone aspiring to truly conquer Suzuran. His nickname Lindaman originates from an alternate reading of his family name Hayashida, where the character for hayashi (forest) can also be read as rin.
