Description
Mei Mei is a Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer who operates as a freelance agent, cooperating with Tokyo Jujutsu High on a contract basis rather than as a permanent member of its staff. Born into a sorcerer family, she is a senior figure to Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko Ieiri from their student days, and has a long-standing working relationship with Utahime Iori. Her younger brother, Ui Ui, frequently acts as her partner in the field. The name Mei Mei is an alias, and her real name has not been revealed.

A tall and striking woman with long, pale blue-tinged silver hair, Mei Mei typically wears her hair in two distinctive braids, one of which hangs in front of her face like a curtain, partially obscuring her sharp dark eyes. Her combat attire consists of a dark bodysuit with an attached skirt, and she is almost always seen carrying a massive axe nearly as tall as herself. During her time as a student and assistant instructor in 2006, she wore a suit and tie with her hair in a high ponytail, leaving her face fully visible.

Mei Mei's defining characteristic is her absolute and unapologetic devotion to money. She famously states that anything which cannot be converted into money holds no value precisely because it cannot be priced. Her allegiances are transactional; she considers herself to be always on the side of money and has little interest in politics, loyalty, or relationships that are not financially based. Despite this mercenary philosophy, she maintains a calm, composed, and even friendly demeanor. She also demonstrates a genuine interest in the potential of others, recognizing and commending the talents of sorcerers like Maki Zenin and Yuji Itadori. Her relationship with her younger brother Ui Ui is a notable exception to her otherwise pragmatic nature, as she is extremely protective and affectionate toward him. Beyond simple greed, she treats the accumulation of wealth as an enjoyable game, investing in stocks and currency trading, with taxes being her primary source of stress.

Mei Mei's role in the story is that of a powerful, independent operator who assists the main cast when it serves her financial interests. During the Kyoto Goodwill Event, she acts as a neutral observer and live-feed coordinator using her crows, but she is not above accepting bribes from the Kyoto school to obscure footage. When Satoru Gojo later transfers a significant sum of money to her account, she reciprocates by jointly recommending several Tokyo students, including Yuji Itadori, for promotion to Grade 1. During the Shibuya Incident, she leads a team to investigate Meiji-Jingumae Station, engages in a deadly battle with a special grade cursed spirit called the Smallpox Deity, and later confronts the entity controlling Suguru Geto's body before being forced to escape with Ui Ui's help.

Mei Mei originally believed she was born with a weak innate technique, which led her to obsessively train her body to become a formidable close-quarters combatant. Her physical abilities have been pushed to their absolute limit through cursed energy reinforcement, allowing her to wield her enormous axe with incredible speed and precision, capable of severing a special grade cursed spirit's limbs in a single swing. Her true power, however, lies in her innate technique, Black Bird Manipulation. This ability allows her to control crows freely, share their vision for surveillance, and project what they see onto monitors. The ultimate application of this technique is Bird Strike. By imposing a binding vow that forces a crow to sacrifice its own life, Mei Mei removes the limiters on its cursed energy, transforming the ordinary bird into a devastating missile of concentrated power. According to Ui Ui, no one except Satoru Gojo has ever survived this attack. Her intelligence and tactical acumen are also exceptional; she is able to calmly analyze an opponent's domain expansion and devise a winning strategy under extreme pressure.
