Misato Kuroi is a supporting character in the Gojo's Past Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. She is a jujutsu sorcerer and the dedicated caretaker of Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel destined to merge with Master Tengen. Kuroi is a kind and deeply loyal woman who treats her duty as more than a job, forming a genuine familial bond with Riko. She is protective of Riko and willing to put herself in danger to ensure her safety.

In the story, Kuroi accompanies Riko during the events leading up to the planned merger. She works alongside Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who are tasked with guarding the vessel. Kuroi is not a frontline combatant, but she wields a broom as a weapon and is capable of defending herself and Riko against weaker threats. Her primary motivation is to see Riko live freely and safely, even if that means making personal sacrifices.

Kuroi's relationship with Riko is central to her character. She acts as a surrogate mother or older sister, providing emotional support and a sense of normalcy in Riko's isolated life. Her development is limited by her early fate. When the assassin Toji Fushiguro attacks, Kuroi is separated from the group. Toji delegates her elimination to his associate Shiu Kong, but Kong instead takes her away. In the anime adaptation, she is shown unconscious in a car, and she does not reappear in the series afterward. Her ultimate fate is left ambiguous, but she is presumed dead by the other characters. Her disappearance highlights the personal cost of the conflict and the loss Riko's death brings to those who cared for her. Notable abilities include her use of cursed energy for self-defense and her experience as a sorcerer, but she does not demonstrate any named or unique cursed techniques.
